This restaurant is really one of the best of the best. Being Mexican-American, myself, it’s very thrilling to see such familiar flavors and dishes presented with very clear care and super unique and new ideas and combinations. Everything from the service, the atmosphere, and to the real star, the food. I can think of no where else in the area where you can not only find a molé and a traditional caldo de piedra (stone soup) in the same place, but two dishes with such full and complex levels of flavor as these two. Wildly flavorful and conceptually creative, I’m blown away by the uniqueness of the menu as a whole and can’t rave about the food itself enough. Some really great tequila and mezcal drinks compliment the menu greatly as well. 10/10 would happily dine again.

What an amazing experience! The service staff was extraordinary from the time we walked through the door until the time we left. The authenticity of the food was amazing. You can tell with each dish that the chef loves what he prepares and puts his heart and soul into every dish. I haven’t been able to go to a Mexican restaurant because they were not able to navigate around my husband’s food allergies but that was not the case here. If you are able to, this is a “must try” restaurant that will take you to old Mexico through every bite you take.

We had immediate seating on a Sunday morning for brunch. Our waitress was really friendly and explained the menu, answered questions and gave recommendations! I got the Huevos Rancheros with cafe olla and my sister got the puff pastries with guava and cream cheese filling. The coffee was French press with ground spices and quite strong! The Huevos Rancheros, well just know their sauces are spicy! I personally enjoyed it however I know others in my family would find it too hot for them.

The chef is Paris trained.. Each dish is a created by the chef by blending Mexican American cuisine. Be prepared to experience visual presentation then blown away with each dish ordered. Do not expect the Guacamole to be anything that you have previously experienced.

Truly a wonderful culinary experience. Chef Oscar is a magician. You can really taste the quality, heritage and thoughtfulness that goes into his menu. My biggest fear going out to eat is overpaying for subpar food which happens all too often. Finally a place with integrity, inventiveness and wholesome ingredients. Although the foods the real MVP here, the atmosphere definitely matches it.

MeXo has amazing food. Great presentation and flavors. The Baja mahi mahi tacos, guacamole and corn dip are must tries. We loved the atmosphere and the waitress was super friendly and attentive. I asked who the head chef was. His name is Oscar and he came out to greet us and tell us a bit about the restaurant. We will definitely be back! Highly recommended, Mayo approved! Also I received a free dessert on the house for my birthday.. best churros I’ve had in Michigan.

This restaurant is exceptional. Every dish is made with care and attention to detail. Absolutely phenomenal flavors and preparations. The chef’s guac is particularly amazing. The mole sauces are deep and rich and fantastic. If you appreciate sopa azteca you’ll definitely want to try theirs. My highest recommendations.

Got the mushroom enchiladas for takeout. Paid $26 for 3 saucy tortillas with the equivalent of 4 mushrooms in them (sliced and lined up single file). The enchiladas tasted primarily like tortilla alone due to containing mostly air. Sadly, only a toddler could survive on that much food.

This is some of the best food I’ve ever eaten. I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly – soft and moist inside with a crispy skin.

I can’t say enough good things about MeXo! Each bite was perfect. We started with the esquites corn dip, then had the watermelon salad, the Baja tacos, and the enchiladas rojas. We ended our dinner with the flourless chocolate torta and the goat cheese churros. The flavor combinations were exquisite and perfectly balanced. The highlight for me was the watermelon salad which was watermelon compressed with tajin, shredded jicama, arugula, chayote, cucumber, basil, spinach, all sprinkled with black sesame seeds and drizzled with a delicious vinaigrette poured table side. The cool sweet watermelon mixed with the other ingredients to create a sensational bite! Highly recommend!!! Sadly, it was all too good and we forgot to take pics except the flourless chocolate torta dessert. Probably the best meal I’ve had in GR.
