Just okay. The service was under expectations, the food was just alright. Not bad, but none of the dishes were special. The Barria tasted good, but not great. Would suggest giving a try, you might find something you like.

First time eating here. Great food. I had black bean taqueria and my husband had a shrimp dish. Both came with beans and rice, which were good. Fast service. We got our food in a little over 5 minutes. Not bad prices. Each meal was 8-9 dollars. Highly recommend this place.

Chips and salsa aren’t free but you will be truly missing out if you don’t get them. Seasonal specials are amazing when I have the desire to try something new. Regular menu has great options also. This isn’t just Mexican food, it’s carefully thought out with a varied selection flavorful chicken, pork, and ground beef (if you are familiar think Penzys spices quality). Best Mexican restaurant in Lawrence by far!

They were out of Mtn. Dew, which seemed odd, but I ordered a Sierra Mist instead. I was given soda water with a hint of syrup, kind of like flavored Perrier. I ordered shrimp tacos because I was feeling brave, and before we even signed the check ($45 for 3 people, not particularly cheap), I had to run to the restroom to throw up. The tacos were on mini tortillas and I got a total of 9 pieces of shrimp which appeared fully cooked but tasted like undercooked chicken. The refried beans and rice had the same flavor and texture, which was that of baby food. I wish I could say I recommend Mexquisito, but I wouldn’t even feed it to my dog.

Best Mexican restaurant in Lawrence, maybe the best restaurant in Lawrence overall. Everything I’ve tried is outstanding. Even my snobby California friends love it and will come back repeatedly whenever visiting. The Birria is insane and addictive. Fajitas are top notch, love the burritos, chiliqules for breakfast are awesome too. Yes you pay for the chips and salsa, get over it (and find a new pet peeve), they’re worth it. Daily beer specials. Man this place is good.

Lawrence has some superb breakfast places, but often with long waits. This is a great alternative, but ask for the brunch menu, not the breakfast menu, which is very basic. This is not a place for good coffee, but the salsas are supreme.

Since Tortas Jalisco closed, this is now our favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. They have many of the same menu items as Tortas Jalisco with some new additions. But just as delicious! The service is wonderful. My husband and I have been patronizing this family’s establishments for so long they greet us like old friends.

Pretty good. Vegan rice and beans. I like the salsas. Not a lot of vegan options but what they have is pretty tasty. The chips are fresh made and the guac is always good. The nopales are delicious.
