Midnight Shift is a beautiful establishment located by a cute hotel. The restaurant was clean, had a modern rustic interior and had a very limited menu for lunch options.

This treasure of Lubbock should not be skipped over. I had the Midnight Burger and it was delightful. I miss the burger’s flavor today, two days later. The service was outstanding. I cannot remember the name of the waitress, but she was kind enough to engage in me and my colleague’s banter concerning movies and such. The atmosphere of this location is so relaxing and post-modern chic-esque. The menu is small and the location busy, which are both great signs of a wonderful place to stop for a bite. Lubbock is trash, but has this amazing hidden gem.

I normally don’t leave negative reviews but I’m very disappointed with this establishment. I brought my family here from out of town because I heard good things about it. When we arrived we waited outside for quite some time without any wait staff coming out. So we went inside to check if we needed to order inside. A waiter then said he would come out. He was extremely cold and rude the entire visit. Sorry, but if you work in this field, being at least a bit helpful and friendly is how you should present yourself. Because right off the bat, with his attitude we did not feel welcome at this restaurant. Our food was pretty average and for the prices, I feel that’s very disappointing. My pancakes were actually cold when they were brought out. Our waiter did not even ask if we wanted our bill split or together, instead just handed the check to us and ran off without a word. We then had to go back inside and ask for it to be split. He barely checked on us and did not provide a good experience at all. I would definitely not recommend stopping in, Lubbock has WAY better establishments.

I’ve had brunch here, and it was just okay. Recently, we came to get a couple drinks with friends, I ordered a regular Chilton, and husband ordered a Jack and Coke. I don’t know how to explain but the drinks didn’t taste right, kind of musty or off – like maybe their soda lines are moldy or something. My husband didn’t finish his Jack and Coke and I couldn’t drink mine. The morning after that experience he said he’d rather have gone to The Robin’s Nest. That’s pretty bad.

Dinner at Midnight Shift last night. Noticed a van with a chef’s name on it sitting on the curb when we pulled up, so was excited! Service was great, atmosphere was great, food was horrible. Husband had salmon rangoons that tasted like canned salmon. My hamburger tasted like and appeared to have been a pre-formed patty, cooked to obliteration. Seriously, it was almost black, tough and so dry that it was difficult to cut with a knife, much less try to bite into. Almost inedible. Friend had a chicken sandwich, which he commented had “very little chicken” on it. It’s a shame! This is such a great place, but afraid we won’t be back.

100% recommend! I found the Cotton Hotel online for a friend traveling through yesterday and she called me with raving compliments. I’m always weary of recommending places I personally have never been, but was pleasantly delighted to know how well the staff treated her and the location to the hotel was perfect. Thank you to the bartenders and all of the staff working last night, I appreciate you making this an enjoyable experience for her and look forward to stopping in should my husband and I find ourselves in Lubbock. 😉

Great atmosphere. Best non-college bar in LBK. Often features live music. Durning the summer there’s lawn games in the courtyard. Great vibes at slightly elevated prices. The price is worth the atmosphere and exceptional customer service. Stick to apps or steak (if you have the money). Only place in Lubbock with Poutine!!

The staff was extremely rude, including the server, and manager ! We spent our wedding night at the cotton court & had breakfast at this establishment. I’ve never been treated so rudely and the looks they gave us were completely uncalled for ! Do not recommend this restaurant.

This is a casual, hotel restaurant. When we arrived, we were seated by a fireplace, so the atmosphere was nice enough. However, the menu was very small, and we were never given a wine list or drink menu. This is odd, since this is a bar. The waiter was happy to bring us a merlot, but he never really offered to take a drink order?? We ordered chips and queso, and the bowl of queso was tiny! This was fine, since it was also very thin and flavorless. The pork chop I ordered was tough and chewy and I didn’t finish it. My wife’s salmon was cooked very well, but the spinach dish that came with it was pretty tasteless … raw spinach and arugula, served with marinated tomatoes, which were not chopped up small enough, so the effect was just large, soggy, tomatoes when you bit into it. There were capers in the dish, but they were at the very bottom of the spinach. They would’ve been better, had they been piled on the salmon. Our meal was not worth the $100 + that it cost. The website states that they don’t take reservations, and it is “first come first serve”, which is laughable, since there would be no reason to make a reservation. It is apparent from the menu, that they strive to serve health conscious options for people who eat a certain way. This is great, but the food needs to then taste good. Parking was difficult.

Given it is attached to a Hotel, a large number of the patrons tend to stay and enjoy drinks after dinner longer than the average restaurant. Having said that the wait was rather long ( we were told 30 to 40 mins., but ended up being about an hour and twenty minutes.) the waiter seemed like he didn’t want to be there and the food took a very long time to get out. When it arrived, my steak was so tough and chewy I had a hard time swallowing the one bite I took. In addition, it had a weird taste to it as well that was almost fishy. When our waiter came by and asked how everything was, I told him it wasn’t very good and I didn’t plan to eat it. He just grinned and walked off (I assume he thought I was joking). Ten minutes later I flagged him down to make sure he knew I was serious.. he then took my plate without saying a word and left. They did take it off the bill (so that was good). But I’d say the young man that served us should improve his serving skills and the restaurant might consider a vendor change for thier meat..
