Sat at the bar, top notch service from the sushi chef. We had Jalapeño bomb appetizer, the name suits the taste it was bomb. We tried the Vegas roll, spicy tuna, and rainbow roll all were delicious. The fiance had the quail egg shooter, it was a hit.

Absolutely amazing. Our new favorite sushi place by far. The fusion of Japanese with Mexican influence in just perfection. Fresh, unique, delicious. Great service, friendly, helpful. But the SUSHI!!!! My favorite is the Tornado.. spicy, fresh, zesty, unique, just incredible!!

A few of my friends recommended this place so my husband and I decided to try it tonight and WOW! We are both so pleased with the food and the service. We are both sushi snobs lol so it’s difficult finding new sushi spots in the area that are ACTUALLY good. I love how unique the rolls were and everything was plated beautifully. Very good fast service. Excellent tasting sushi. Was working in the area and decided to stop in, great decision. The highway 50 roll was excellent. I have never had mint in a sushi roll and was pleasantly surprised as to how good it was. I would definitely eat here again! Very clean also. Not a crumb on the tables or floors. Highly recommend!

Really good sushi with creative options. Our food came quickly. Service was good and the food was fresh and beautifully prepared. The only feedback I could add is that I’d like to see a better selection of local wines to choose from. We live in an area with so many excellent wineries. This restaurant should expand their list and support local wineries.

We did not expect this. In a last-minute adventure to nervously try sushi in our small town of Cameron Park, we selected one of three that appeared in our Google search. Our nerves were additionally stoked when we literally decided to move our parking spot away from some parking lot tweakers. We didn’t give up. That would have been a huge mistake. The place was packed, so I took that as a good sign, and the wait was short. The first thing we noticed, besides the cleanliness, was the transparency of their displayed ingredients, and the chefs working in plain sight. Then we were able to see their craft, and it was artful. Our first surprise was their Special Nigiri section of the menu. It was unique, and reflected what I hoped to be from a chef whose creativity and talent exceeded the typical discounted sushi roll restaurant. Everything sounded amazing, so we tried as much as we could. Our waiter was knowledgeable, and helped answer questions related to things we hadn’t seen before (butterfish, Kaiware, etc). He was patient and attentive. Then the magic arrived. The special nigiri was had ordered came with a few compliments of the chef, and they all struck 10/10 ratings for us. This is a next-level restaurant, in a funky location. We’re thrilled we have it a shot, and the whole experience was far beyond any expectations we’d had. You must try Mikasa.
