Families been going there for a long time great barbecue I love the barbecue sauce as of lately I’ve noticed the food quality has been getting poor today we ordered and very disappointed. They chop barbecue on my big potatoes, tasted and had the same consistency as potatoes so it was mushy in my mouth and. Looks like minced meat. Hate to say this but almost like food I feed my puppy bring the old quality of your food back please thank you.

I have lived in GP all 44yrs of my life and today was the first time I’ve eaten here. I would not do it again. Chopped brisket looked like ground beef. Had no smoked taste. Drowning in sauce. Idk just not my idea of good barbecue

If you’re in the area and need some good bbq Mike’s is the place to stop. It may not look like much on the outside but the grub definitely makes up for the curb appeal. I got the one meat plate and subbed my 2 sides for one large baked potato. Drink, taxes and all came to about 16.50 which isn’t bad considering the cost of meat currently. The bbq sauce wasn’t what I would consider traditional or typical but was good all the same. Not a single bad thing to say about the food. Walked away very full, wondering how I’m going to finish the work day with this food baby.

Everyone here is very nice, and the food is good ~ but the past 3 times I’ve gone out to them they’ve been closed during business hours. It seems like a too frequent issue for me to continue coming here or confidently refer them to anyone else. I hope they find a better solution to this problem otherwise they’ll continue losing so much potential business. I wish them the best!

The best rib and brisket I’ve have ever tasted! Yummy great portions too! Everything was delicious! The corn, the baked beans and baked potato! Met Mike the owner great guy! The atmosphere is just perfect for a BBQ joint in Texas! Once the sell out they closeup for the day so get there early!

Far from home, I was looking for someplace to eat dinner when I cam across Mike’s. I knew it was going to be good when 2 older gentlemen came in looking for ribs. The owner greeted them and immediately informed them that he was out of ribs. It is a good sign when they BBQ place runs out of product. I ordered a BBQ slice sandwich and it was amazing. The sauce was great. I was told that the place has been around for 50 years and the sauce has been to outer space with NASA. It was out of this world. If you haven’t been, check it out. It was good to see a restaurant owner take pride in his business and care about his customers.
