For a quick bite on the route, we stopped here for lunch and I was vastly impressed by the food quality and quantity of this place. The portion is generous and the quality is phenomenal; my parents had been here years ago but it was my first time and I had a great experience. I ordered the deluxe plate and the sides are all amazing. I highly recommend this place. I will dare say that it is better than Buccees.

Just got in town for work and who can pass up a local Texas BBQ joint! Meat was hot and tender house sauce has good flavor. They macaroni salad was delicious. Lots of places to sit. All for a great price.

This store has been around for many years, it was good maybe 20 years ago, they have their own way of chopped sandwiches…as in chopping it ,mixing it with barbecue sauce to make it stretch.. but it use to be Texas size buns along with the amount of meat and quality of meat to go with it..and taste was better.. it looks like a sloppy joe. Prices go up all the time…but that does not mean give less food, and lower quality food along with it. There was only the store in town before this large store off the highway. So you walk up to the counter, it’s a kid who doesn’t want to be there, slow as molasses cutting the meat, who moves so slow, who cuts it wrong, and asks someone else “can you do this I don’t know how” (or by the slow movement they just don’t want to do it) You can’t get ribs, chicken, and brisket on the same plate, you have to add it separately which makes no sense. The rack of ribs are so small it’s embarrassing, that’s not Texas Barbecue. So they put the plate on the scale.. and it’s skinny pork ribs and a little brisket which it looks like scraps. On the “three meat plate” it looks like a child’s plate. Overall the service, meat, size of everything needs to be addressed.. as in weight, double ribs or double brisket is way under portion. If the worker doesn’t know how to serve or cut the meat don’t let him distribute the main part of the plate, but the portion size is all on the owner. Prices can go up all they want, but again the quality and taste you put out does not have to go down. This is not at all a great representation of Texas Barbecue….not even close.

Always the best place to get BBQ. The great part is that it never changes. The same great taste I remember from childhood to now. Of I stopped on the highway and got me a few memories. If you are ever in the area stop by and have some good old BBQ. Also, admire the stuffed animals they in there. Oh, by the way they have a great banana pudding for dessert. Just make sure you have room for it.

Food is very flavorful, meat had a perfect smoke balance and cooked to perfection. Plenty of choices of meat, sides and desert. Restaurant has plenty of seating and parking lot is a good size. Service is good.

This is a place we stop on our way going to visit relatives and coming home, so it’s with a heavy heart that I write this. The food is good, but what makes a place is the people behind the counter also. Is it a thing to be rude to customers who keep the place open???? Rude, biased, unfriendly, ever since Mr. Mikeskas passing it hasn’t been the same.

The food had no flavor, they over loaded brisket sandwich with barbecue sauce so I couldn’t eat it .

Best barbecue spot in this place and surrounding area. The ribs were fall off the bone and the brisket was so moist and soft. The barbecue sauce had a unique flavor nothing I’ve ever tasted before highly recommend if you’re in the area. The staff were friendly and the dining experience felt very home like

I heard about Mikeska’s from a coworker and they were like “the food was so good, you need to go try it right now!” So obviously I went to go try it out. Oh my God I can’t describe how horrible that place was. I went in and grabbed my food, it was normal until I tried their Mac and cheese. It was so bland, unflavored, and definitely not as satisfying and pleasing as I thought it would be. I also tried the sausages and it tasted like it came out of water. There was some chicken stuff or I really don’t know because I couldn’t even tell what it was but, it was so dry and tasted like it was uncooked.
