The first and oldest Japanese express in town. Mikoto Express in Pembroke was established in 2003 by two friends and with the support of the local community members, who drove out of town to dine at the other locations in Fayetteville. It is a great place for the community to enjoy a quick meal.

Owners are scared of Covid-19 so only the drive-thru is open and it’s usually ten cars wrapped around the building and a 15 min wait on some so so food that you can make at home if you have a gas stove or Blackstone Grill.

Terrible experience. Called in an order, gave them my info and was told it would be ready to pick up in 10 minutes. I waited an extremely long time (not a lot of cars, just slow) and when it was my turn I was rudely informed that they didn’t have my order. No apology, no attempts at being polite. Just “well I don’t have that order.” Honestly, I would have been ok with the wait if I had received my order. Don’t waste your time and eat somewhere else with good customer service.

Only option for Japanese in Pembroke. Don’t let the line fool you. The quality has declined drastically. The white sauce is watery. I had two pieces of zucchini, no mushrooms, barely any meat, really onions were severely undercooked. All this issues with my filled, chicken, and shrimp. Last time, I’m done.

Very nice and quick staff. I typically get a sushi roll with noodles or rice and a drink. They place and make orders very quickly. I took one star off because they don’t fill the noodles up the way they fill they fill the rice up. The photo I posted is untouched. The food had just been given through the drive-through.

The food is absolutely amazing. They have a convenient drive through and they have your order ready within 15 minutes. The chefs cooks the food when the order is placed so it is always fresh. I always get the steak and shrimp hibachi plate which comes with delicious grilled vegetables. But they have lots more to choose from!

I was just passing by and i happened to crave Japanese food. This was the first time i ate here. The quality of the food and customer service was above and beyond my expectations. If the food was half as good i would have been satisfied. It left me saying “this is a 10/10”, “i have to come back”, and “wow”. Job well done! Keep it up.
