Good service but food was just average. One of our meals was undercooked. Expensive for what it is and no bathrooms available.

We went to the Mill Valley Coffee Shop expecting just that, a coffee shop, but were pleasantly surprised to find an old school diner, so we sat down for breakfast. The first thing we noticed was that the prices were high for diner food. $20.95 for a waffle, 2 eggs and 4 sausage links. $18.95 for a sausage and cheese omelette, hash browns and 2 pieces of toast. The second thing we noticed was that we were the only customers at 9:30 AM on a Sunday in bustling Mill Valley. The third thing we noticed was that this is clearly not a “coffee shop.” Still, the coffee we did receive was good. The food was also good, though nothing to write home about. It was our waitress’s second day and she did fine. The owners (or at least who I think are the owners) were present and very nice people. I think the issue with this place is a confusion about how to market it and what it is. I couldn’t understand why it wasn’t called the Mill Valley Diner. A classic diner, marketed as such, and priced more reasonably should be a big hit in the area. I think with some minor changes this business could really succeed. I’m rooting for them. But for now, it leaves something to be desired.

My mother-in-law used to own this restaurant. The current owners are just as wonderful and delightful. Food excellent. Highly recommend!

I am 75 y.o. & have traveled on 4 continents. Mill Valley Coffee is my favorite breakfast place on planet Earth. I live in NY but fly to CA regularly, & I never fail to come here every day I can manage. Owner Lorraine’s subtle & gently humorous charm as well as flawless customer care, & Chef Philip’s astonishingly perfect cooking, have me eating & lingering for more than an hour every time. Their eggs Benedict Florentine (with my idiosyncratic but customary side of their exquisite chorizo) is my favorite dish at this, my favorite place

I love supporting the little guy, but this place was just okay. Service was definitely not overly friendly. Food and coffee were just okay. Very overpriced. ~22$ + tip for a small breakfast burrito some bagged home fries and a coffee. Average….

All food was excellent.. order from the simple country bf to the bennies, food is delicious. The lady attending the place is lovely and make us to comeback 3 days in a row. Didn’t bother to look anywhere else.

A true classic diner. I think the cash register is analog, maybe from 1930s or 40s? Credit cards supported though .

If you’re looking for not the friendliest or attentive service with mediocre food greasy enough to clog your arteries in one meal, then this is the place for you.

A great diner, classic old-school Mill Valley. Good food, fast service, and such nice people. The owner has been running this place for 35+ years, knows everyone in the neighborhood. Support local business and stop in for breakfast or lunch! Highly recommend the giant blueberry pancakes, biscuits and gravy, or burgers.
