I recently had the pleasure of dining at Milo Restaurant at The Ellison, and I must say that it was a fantastic experience. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the service was top-notch.

It was slow due to the storms, but everything was delicious. The pimento cheese tater tots were a great starter. The buttermilk fried quail was delicious. The greens were seasoned very well and needed nothing more when they came out. While I did not try the chicken, it looked amazing when they brought it to the table for my dinner companion.

I’ve eaten here 3 times- I like the unique food options… and because they are new, you can usually find a table. It’s about $30 per person minimum. I’m not sure why google is listing it under $10-$20. There are only a few outlets for laptops, but the waitstaff is kind and the atmosphere is fun! They have hot tea, mocktails, cocktails… great place to post up and work or grab a bite with a friend. I recommend the bison sope as a starter. Still tasting my way through the rest of the menu.

Decided to spend my Saturday with some friends for a tour of newer bars in our city. A few opened up this weekend. We started at Milo for some cocktails. It wasn’t busy, but for some reason the service was slow and it seemed no one wanted to help us. So we went to the bar and ordered some cocktails. The drinks definitely made up for the lack of service and the decor was spot on. There is an amazing piece of art made with books in the Lobby of Ellison. Alaina Hunt did a fantastic job.

Loved the look and the energy of Milo! The lounge area in the hotel lobby was very welcoming and you can sit and have a glass of wine in that area.

They did not have the first two dishes that I ordered. My wife’s espresso drink scalded. Mine tasted like drip coffee with 2% milk pour in. We were then charged over twice as much as what the bill actually was but they did ultimately correct it.

Disappointed. Today we were excited to try Chef Valentine’s food but unfortunately we left without eating because the servcie was so bad. After 10 minutes of being seated we asked the hostess if we could get service. She apologized and tried to find our server and said she had stepped away for a little bit. This is right after I watched the waitress take someones card right beside us. We then had to ask for a drink menu, waited longer, and then had to ask for the brunch and coffee menu. Still no service so we left. This was brunch at 11, only 4 or 5 other tables were seated so it wasnt busy. We drove a couple miles down the road to Jonathan Strangor’s El Coyote. Got right in, have drinks and ordered within 6 minutes of being seated. This is what I expect from a Top Chef.
