I had such an amazing time at the African restaurant I went to! The live band was seriously incredible – their music totally set the mood and made the night unforgettable. Let me tell you about those chicken wings I ordered – they were cooked to perfection, just how I like them. And what’s even better is that they came out super quick. The bartender was really on point too – friendly and always making sure we had what we needed. I’m already looking forward to my next visit – this place has won me over!

Came here for the first time with a friend! Expected more from the experience. The food was not $88 worth but it was good enough. Service was not OK when we sat at the bar moved to a table and Brooke was great! I’d honestly have to come back for a second time to see if its a different vibe but I’d overall give it a 6/10.

My daughters took me and my mom here for mother’s day, the food was amazing, the service could have been better. There was on waitress that was awesome I believe her name was Olivia. And they are pricey.

My family and I really enjoyed our first experience at Mimsy’s. We were greeted by a very pleasant young lady. Our server, Destiny was the absolute sweetest! She was patient and answered all of our questions. We tried fufu and egusi and oxtails with waayke (sp). Everything was delicious. The gentleman behind the bar let us sample watermelon ginger drink and it was so good we purchased some to take home. The live music was great. The restaurant was clean and comfortable. Don’t forget dessert! The red velvet cake is DELICIOUS!!!! We will definitely be returning.

I will never visit this place again. My party was the first to arrive, there were no other patrons in the restaurant. After ordering, we waited for over an hour for our food. The rest of my party received their orders but I never received my order of chicken and waffle. Our waitress was not welcoming from the start and she was condescending when asked simple questions about menu selections. She never once introduced herself, when asked if one of the dishes was really spicy, she responded “I’m the wrong one to ask, I’m Nigerian.” In direct contrast, she was very attentive, warm and friendly to the two groups of white patrons that came in and were seated well after we had placed our order. They received their food before all of our party received our order. After waiting for close to an hour and an half I asked our waitress to cancel my order and asked to speak to the owner to share my experience. She informed me that my order had already been reversed, and that my order was being prepped. Another person who I am assuming was the manager walked up and asked what the issue was, I shared my experience with her and the fact that I still had not received any food. She was very apologetic and assured me that my to go orders were ready and that they were bagging it up and would bring it right out and I would be given the food at no cost as a result of the negative experience. After waiting another 15 mins, and watching other patrons who were seated after us be served, and essentially being ignored by our waitress at this point, I walked to the front and asked what looked like a little girl if I could speak with the owner (2nd request). When I had an opportunity to speak with the owner, he too was very apologetic about the obvious breakdown in communication with the staff regarding my order and offered to give me the food at no charge. He told me was was remaking the waffle and chicken himself because the other order was cold and had been sitting for quite a while. I waited another 10 mins or so for what was supposed to be a fresh order of chicken and waffle. When I got home and opened the box, I was beyond disappointed that after all of that I was indeed given old chicken that looked as it had been cooked earlier in the day. It was soggy and looked like it had been fried in old oil. My waffle was chewy, and had no fruit. I was comped my meal after the initial 1 hr and 45 min wait, which in total was an order of Chicken and Waffle for dine in and an order of Egusi and Fufu and Red Snapper to go. However, in the end it was not even worth the free food. I was so excited initially to support this establishment, and the live jazz was a very nice touch. However, nothing can make up for being treated as if our patronage was not valued. I can say without a doubt that this was my first and last time coming here. I appreciated the owner and the manager’s willingness to try to rectify the situation by giving me the entire order for free, but the wasted time coupled with receiving old chicken after waiting an additional 25 mins for fresh food left a bad taste in my mouth, no pun intended. Our waitress definitely had a chip on her shoulder, which was truly disheartening, as our entire party was nothing but polite to her during the entire visit despite the long wait and her condescending unwelcoming attitude. Definitely Not a good customer service experience at all. I will not return.
