Was beginning to think it’s tough to find a good restaurant in Rapid city since its chock full of fast food places, but once again Google search to the rescue. Really liked Minervas, Our server, Jake, was one of the nicest people you could hope to meet. A very nice dining experience. Cajun Chicken was on point as were their deserts (Creme Brulee and a Chocolate Souffle). Wasn’t expecting a salad bar and always kind of leery about places that have one. However, this one was top notch. Highly recommended.

If you’re expecting a good weekend breakfast this is not the place. We like to go out and have a nice breakfast on Sunday morning. The only thing here is a breakfast buffet for $12.95. Honestly this is a continental breakfast with a make your own waffle. And the food was barely warm. The only decent thing was the wait staff was friendly. I am assuming this is the same breakfast that. People who stay here get to eat for free. Won’t be back here for breakfast.

My parents and I went to Minervas in Rapid City in June 2023 for dinner. It was pretty much a perfect meal. The restaurant has an air of old-school 1960s fine dining, but slightly relaxed. It’s spacious but warm. The service is impeccable. The menu is not overly large and offers a good mix of standard and updated classics. Our party ordered the pork tenderloin marsala, potato-crusted walleye, and triple cheese mac (my dish) — all were delicious (and I am still obsessed with the triple cheese mac). Warm bread and whipped butter preceded our meal, and we did not order an appetizer. This meant we had some room for dessert. We chose the butterscotch marshmallow bread pudding. I don’t have much of a sweet tooth, but this hit the spot — despite the name, it was not at all overly sugary, and the bourbon butterscotch sauce was a lovely warm custard in the English style. The wine selection was very good as well. And the prices are very reasonable, even coming from Canada, where our dollar does not hold much value compared to US currency. Highly recommended.

They didn’t have enough help. It took awhile for our server to get our order, our drinks, and our ticket. We had salad bar so we didn’t have to wait for our food. I think the server was by himself. The hostess took our money. I gave her a $20 and a penny as it was $15.01. She gave me 4 $1’s and same change back. She acted confused when I told her she owed me $5. we ate in the bar area in the back. our 15 year old daughter was with us. it was wonderful. our server “Rainee” was an absolute gem. She made my birthday so much fun. We all had different steaks and we were all really happy. we also had the calamari, squeeze the lemon, eat the peppers, you won’t be disappointed!
