A spicy stew! A spicy stew! Delicious Szechuan bean curd! A spicy stew!!! Ming Tree is one of the few places in Tallahassee where you can get authentic delicious Chinese cuisine. If you like that deep fried general tso’s garbage, go elsewhere.

Two strikes and they’re out – overcooked my food badly twice! Heard great things on my quest to try every Chinese place in town, and the first time they outright burned my food. Hearing such great reviews I thought it must be a fluke, but I came back and my food was yet again way over cooked. Last time I couldn’t eat all of it due to the burning, this time it was legitimately hard to chew the General Tso’s it was so well done. Potentially due to poor quality chicken with a ton of breading… I like that they use a good bit of pepper, but two strikes is all they’ll get from me for $15 for chef Specialty plates. I thought the fried rice was somewhat bland too. Maybe I’m the unlucky one, but they’re 0/2 with me.

Best Chinese food in Tallahassee! Don’t forget to order the wonton soup I promise it will be one of the best you’ve had. Also the house fried rice is no joke.

This is the best take out Chinese food in Tallahassee that I have tried. The spare ribs with black bean sauce is a fantastic dish. Yes, they are still take-out only and the system is a bit strange, but it works well for my crew.

So I love to go here, I always get the wonton cause they make them daily but to be honest i think its a little to much ginger . I could rate the atmosphere because to carryout only.

The best Chinese food in Tallahassee! The interiors are not fancy but the food is delicious and simple. It has been our staple to go Chinese restaurant for a few years. Our family favorites include the Hunan Chicken and Pepper Steak.

I have been eating at Ming Tree for over 30 years and it has been a while since I have been there. Tonight I ordered the shrimp with eggs and tomatoes and my granddaughter had vegetable lo mein. The flavors were amazing and as always, their eggrolls are the best in town. Truly my favorite Asian restaurant in Tallahassee.

As a first time customer, I am severely disappointed with Ming Tree. The chicken and broccoli came in a water sauce and the chicken was undercooked, since I am pregnant, I could not enjoy the semi-cooked chicken dish and I am glad I checked before eating. The fried rice was dry and bland. The egg roll was the best part of the meal. Portion sizes are standard too. I would normally give a restaurant a second chance but the uncooked chicken coupled with the unpleasant waitress over the phone, I will probably stick with Emerald Garden.

Minus one star for bugs in our water. Minus another star for no dumplings on the menu (even though there is a category called “dim sum”). The Ming Tree has a long history in Tallahassee in various locations and this location carries on the name. Bring your own beer or wine. This is a low-key restaurant in a tucked away strip mall. The food is very flavorful and the service is efficient. Take out is available, as is table service.
