surprise date night turned into absolute joy when we pulled up to the minnetonka drive in! transport yourself back to an easier time when you could order good food at a very decent price from the comfort of your car. the california supreme was tops! i am still thinking about this burger this morning. it was full of flavor! the bun seemed bakery made and did not overpower the ingredients. a basket of fries is plenty for two! crinkle cuts are my fav! all was ordered and out to the car within minutes, but did not have that gross fast food vibe! will be back❣️

Original, tasty and pleasant place to take some time with family and friends in the end of the day! Specially on Thursdays when we have old cars demo.

It is vintage and iconic. The food is decent. Their fried chicken is my pick every time. The price is right. The vibe encourages folks to just hang out and enjoy the space and each other.

I just happened to me nearby viewing an apartment and decided to stop here for lunch. I love dining at these dinosaur establishments all over the twin cities. This place had a good burger, it was pricey for the size by which I mean you could go to McDonald’s/ Wendy’s for the same price and get a bigger burger and whole meal. But the burger and fries were good. I would visit again if I was in the area. If you eat on their picnic tables you get a nice view of the lake.

Love going to the drive-in. It’s a really unique glimpse of living history. They have jeep night on at least some Wednesdays. (I haven’t driven by every Wednesday) the car show every Thursday is a great chance to see some really old, unique, cool and fancy cars. The staff are always really friendly and caring even when they are busy. The onion rings are awesome. In my opinion the food isn’t the main reason why I go but it’s not bad by any means!

Moved to area have tried to go twice and both times stopped early serving by 15 min which on 90 degree days would be great for ice cream and food. Went to lost lake ice cream was amazing. Hope we can go to drive in and they will be open at 7:50 next time.

I love diners and drive ups. This one was exactly what I expected/hoped it would be. Classic style food, unique menu, and great portions. I had the the grilled cheese with ham which was everything I needed it to be. The onion rings were outstanding! Great experience and I would go back!

My review is about the PEOPLE of Minnetonka Drive-In. Back in June of 2023, I lost a valuable award ring (monetarily and sentimental). Because we had been on an international trip when I first discovered it missing, Iassumed it was lost on the trip. I prayed my obligatory 13 Hail Mary’s, and over time figured this time my prayers would be unanswered. We love to attend Thursday Night Roll-In with our C-8 Corvette and admire all the cars vintage and new. Visiting with other car buffs is so interesting, as car guys and gals are very passionate about their wheels. On Thursday, August 17, I was ordering our chicken dinner at the inside counter, when I looked up and THERE WAS MY RING on the shelf by the window! I shouted, “That’s my ring!” The young lady serving me yelled to the other high school-aged staff, “HEY, THE RING BELONGS TO THIS MAN!” They ALL cheered in amazement! These kids were genuinely happy the ring was returned to its owner! They said it had been there all summer! Isn’t that beautiful? Beautiful that whoever found it, turned it in. Beautiful that management and young staff kept it dutifully displayed on that shelf in plain view for three months! This speaks so highly of the ethics which runs deeply through the team at Minnetonka Drive-In and their patrons, especially the Thursday Night Crowd.

Nice drive in. Also outdoor picnic tables. On the Dakota trail. Friendly staff. Music from the 60’s, felt like going back to teenager again. Fun.

Love the vibe this place gives. Has a nostalgic small town 1950s feel with awesome homemade food to boot! Forget the fairs, if you want a good old-fashioned corn dog and some hot delicious onion rings, this is the place!
