Great food! The shrimp pasta, fried chicken, roast, macaroni and cheese, potato salad, greens, candied yams, green beans and gumbo were just like home. We went for the Sunday buffet brunch and it was so good. The prices are reasonable and the food portions are large.

Great people and good soul food in the most unassuming spot in Slidell. My first time visiting. I’m told that the consistency of the food varies from good to fantastic. I was there on a “good” day. Definitely worth dropping in in hopes of “fantastic”!

TERRIBLE service. Called ahead & placed order for Saturday BBQ. Was told 30 minutes–perfect for driving from NOLA. Got there & waited over an hour to be told they just sold out–funny that all the African-Americans who arrived after me all got served. AVOID this MESS!!

My fiancé and I visited this restaurant to eat today and all I can say is AWESOME! Everything was FANTASTIC…..the food, atmosphere, customer service, the owner Mrs. Shirley came to take our order. She was very friendly and also a very GREAT Chef! She’s knows what she’s doing in the kitchen, food prepared fresh as you order it. The gumbo was also Great, (she told me it would be) !
