Mirch Masala is a cute little Capitol Hill restaurant specializing in Indian Food. My partner and I decided to order takeout from them for the first time and were astounded by how expedient the call was taken. Additionally, the food was ready approximately 10 minutes after we hung up. The restaurant’s interior is adorable, with plenty of seating and a small bar adorned with string lights. We had the Goa Coconut Curry and the Baingan Bhartha. The coconut curry is rich and indulgent, with just the right touch of cream. Despite the spice being hot, it could have been slightly hotter. The eggplant Baingan Bhartha is an excellent vegetarian pureed dish. My only qualm is that both dishes cost over $40 with an order of Naan bread. :/ I thought the price was just a smidge too high.

I recently dined at Mirch Masala, and I have to say, it was quite underwhelming. The food lacked the authentic flavors and spices that I was expecting from an Indian restaurant. The dishes were bland and seemed to be lacking in seasoning. The service was also disappointing, as the staff appeared disinterested and inattentive. Moreover, the ambiance was rather dull and did not contribute to a pleasant dining experience. Overall, I was quite disappointed with my visit to Mirch Masala. It did not live up to the hype, and I would not recommend it to others looking for an authentic Indian dining experience.

Nice Restaurant with decent pricing but food does not taste authentic. I ordered lamb biryani and butter chicken. Service is great and restaurant is clean.

One of my favorite restaurants! I’ve tried a few different things here and have liked every one. This most recent time I ordered the Goa Coconut Curry with paneer. The mango mousse cake is great as well.

we ordered seafood pasta and vegetarian pasta. both were not creamy at all. the sauce was very dilute. i couldn’t get through the seafood pasta with the white sauce. it upset my stomach. the vegetarian pasta with the red sauce was better.

I appreciate that the hot and extra hot spicy level were legitimately so. The butter masala, tikka masala, and mattar paneer were quite similar in flavor and I would expect a bit more difference. I ordered on Uber Eats and the order was accurate and fast. The garlic nan was just ok but that is most likely due to delivery rather than eating in the restaurant.

Absolutely recommend if your a fan of Indian food. Always good food and portions. They used to have a mango lemonade on the menu and when we asked about it they offered to make it and if we didn’t like it not charge us. It was delicious!

Garlic naan and paneer naan are pretty good. The butter chicken is also pretty good, especially for dipping the naan.
