All the elements of fine dining: Excellent food, good service. We had gator bites (actual alligator, imported from a Florida farm), beef brisket (very tender – excellent), green fried tomatoes, fried okra, and corn and potatoes, finished up with peach cobbler topped with a scoop of ice cream. The highlights were the brisket and gator bites plus the various sauces that came with the dish or already on the table (a hot “Texan”, a medium “Memphis”, and a mild “Minnesotan” [“for your Norwegian grandmother,” said the restaurant owner]). There’s a nice diner atmosphere with farm-inspired ornamentation. For our generous 3-course meal, we paid about $20/plate.

Finally came here and glad we did. We got the catfish nuggets for an appetizer and they were delicious. Kids got fried shrimp basket and chicken strip basket which they both devoured. I got the jambalaya with baked beans and dirty rice. It was fantastic. The jambalaya had a nice spicy flavor, the dirty was very flavorful, and the baked beans had a great smoky taste. Will definitely be back again soon!

The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was great. I had the fried zucchini and squash as well as the corn fritters appetizers. The portions were plentiful for my party of 5. The country fried steak and fried okra, meal was delicious and portions were big enough I took some home as well.

The Misplaced Magnolia is a cute restaurant, the food is good and the waitresses were very nice. The sweet tea was awesome! I thought I ordered the beef brisket but was brought the pulled pork which was really good so I just ate it. My son got the gator bites and he wasn’t crazy about the cornmeal coating but I thought they were good. The onion rings were slightly salty but they also had a nice spice to them. The fried okra was good. The macaroni and cheese seems to be made with real cheddar cheese. The free corn muffins are very good, great corn flavor and had good ground corn texture and not super sweet. The sauces were all very different, but each were good. If I lived around Kasson, I could eat here probably once a week.

A hidden gem for anyone who finds it! This restaurant is probably the best BBQ in the greater Rochester area, topping even John Hardy’s and Roscoe’s. They’ve got an impressively large menu, with my wife ordering smokehouse tacos and me ordering beef brisket. Both were deliciously tender and cooked perfectly. The sides of fried pickles, corn muffins, onion rings, corn fritters, and dirty rice were all excellent as well.

It was very refreshing to find a small town restaurant serving authentic southern food. We started with the friends green tomatoes and fried alligator bites, the sampler for dinner, and the peach cobbler for dinner. The food was amazing with the following exceptions:

I just love this place! The food is always good. Some gluten free options are available. I really enjoy the unique menu items; fried green tomatoes, corn fritters, muffaletta, as well as the staple favorites of jambalaya, BBQ meats, Cole slaw, beans… And the list goes on.

We really like southern food and were looking forward to trying this new restaurant. The atmosphere was good, what you would expect at a southern style restaurant, wait staff was great, friendly, attentive. Food was okay. Corn muffins dry and cold, beef brisket moist and flavorful, 5 kinds of sauces met with mixed reviews, would have been nice to have just a plain old BBQ sauce. Ordered a fried pickle appetizer, chicken sandwich, hamburger, 4 oz (2 slices) beef brisket plate, and a 8 oz (4 slices) beef brisket plate, all had water except one had sweet tea, bill was over $60.00. Side portions are tiny. Don’t order a refill on drinks, you will be charged. If had eaten at Famous Dave’s or Victoria’s or Olive garden would have had leftovers for that amount of money and still left full. Not sure will be going back.

Good brunch value, BBQ meats and sauces were good. Mini desserts were a nice touch. Biscuits went well with gravy but too dense to stand on their own. Looking forward to trying their regular menu.
