The Miss America Diner has always been the place where everybody really does know your name. As a former employee at New Jersey City University, located two blocks from the diner, I was a regular customer for more than 25 years. The atmosphere is fun, welcoming and everybody is treated like family. All generations go there….baby boomers, Gen Zs, Millenials, tiny babies with their moms, entire families, high school students, NJCU students, faculty, staff. The best place to go for breakfast, lunch, dinner, anytime. I love them all!!!

Another Jersey city gem is this old school spot the Miss America Diner. Came in here after the gym to pickup some food and wow great spot. I ordered a chicken cutlets with mashed potatoes corn and a clam chowder soup along with a delicious piece of apple crumb pie plus a 3 dollar service take out tip all for 23.00 total. Great portions clean diner flavor and great prices makes this a must eat place in jersey city.

As a Hoboken resident who used to frequent both Malibu and Spa Diner (they’ve since closed), I’ve been looking for a good diner nearby. My boyfriend found Miss America by doing a quick Google search of best old school diners near us and this one was high on the list. We took the short drive over to Jersey City and were happy to see they had a parking lot which was extremely convienent. We walked in and within seconds we were greeted, seated and had hot, fresh coffee poured for us. The staff was exceptional. They were friendly, attentive and quick. The food came out and it wowed us even more. Shout out to our server, Maria, who had a smile on her face the entire time. She was so happy & it was contagious. I highly reccomend this diner to all nearby.

I’ve loved the Miss America Diner since I first moved to jersey city 18 years ago, but had not gone for the past few years. Decided to revisit it and was not disappointed. Place looks lovely – the perfect slice of Americana – food was great (I had the meatloaf, friend had pancakes with eggs), service was efficient and very pleasant.

Passed by this Old School New Jersey diner and decided to stop in I ordered two eggs sunny-side up with home fries and pork sausage. It was very good the waitress was very friendly.
