This is my 2nd Ethiopian restaurant in Tampa in the last couple months. My inexperienced palate enjoyed the other place more than this one. I really could not tell which was more authentic but I did eat the same items in both places and I do know what I like. The food here had more heat and did not seem as savory.

Delicious food!! We seemed to be waiting a bit before our order was taken and there were delay in drink refills. Atmosphere could be more authentic if the dining area had low tables in niches and it were decorated in draped Ethiopian fabrics. Wait staff was friendly.

Always delicious food, very very kind owners, the music is always lovely and it smells delicious inside! Athena is so sweet and will always make sure you get something you love, and Ter is a fantastic chef. Many vegan options and they will help you find something if it’s your first time. Wish I could give them 10 stars 🙂

This is our first time eating Ethiopian food and we loved it. It was delicious and our 1 year old ate 4 vegetable sambusas! The beef and shrimp tibbs were so scrumptious. The cold salads were colorful and refreshing. The injera bread was different and complemented the food very well. My husband had an imported beer and I looooved the honey wine. We ate with our hands and it was wonderful. The service was probably the best we’ve ever had. So attentive and kind. We wish our server was our mom/grandma. Excellent excellent excellent.
