A really fun place to stop and get a drink and gourmet food. They had some authentic Mexican dishes as well. I tried the Torta sandwich which I thoroughly enjoyed. The MJ French fries were one of the best I’ve ever had. They have a nice view of the river and back deck seating.

We stopped at MJ’s to meet up with someone who was traveling in the area. This ended up being an excellent suggestion on their part. It was a lovely setting inside and out, but we opted to sit on the back patio. We enjoyed great coffee and delicious food. I had the Jays salad and it was very full of good stuff but I ate almost all of it so it wasn’t stuffed with just lettuce. We also enjoyed the yogurt and fruit and the Cuban. All of our food was perfectly made and presented and the service staff was very attentive and patient. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to MJs and will stop by again.

MJ’s came highly recommended by the gal at Best Western when we checked in. A short ride up the road from the hotel on the left hand side, literally right across from where you see the 30 MPH speed limit sign. Attentive and friendly staff, great food & beverage choices, decent prices and quaint atmosphere all make this place a winner. Our waiter, Trevor, was awesome. I wish I had actually taken pictures of the inside & food, but all I took was of the lights by the bathroom that struck my fancy. Highly recommended.

First visit the other evening. What a great dining experience. Sat on the outdoor patio. Couldn’t have been a more perfect day, with the slightest breeze overlooking the river. Could have spent our whole night there. Had the tortilla chips with homemade queso and chorizo. Can we say yes please! Ordered the jerk chicken sandwich with a grilled pineapple slice and peach chutney. Perfect bite of heat with just enough to leave a coating on your tongue, but then that pineapple and peach bite hit, and all is good in the world. I also had the Aloha Beaches, so if you are looking for a refreshing summer cocktail with some sweetness, this is it!

The food was fresh and delicious. I had the chicken tacos and vegetable skewers, which was just the right portion for a meal. One of my friends had the Greek salad, and it was FRESH and delicious. My other two friends both ordered the chicken saute and added avocado, and they thoroughly enjoyed it. We also had the guacamole appetizer, but it had too much kick for me. My friends really enjoyed it, though. Kyra was our server, and she was so sweet and attentive. We even complimented the shift leader, Sierra, on how happy we were with our service and food. I apologize for the lack of photos, but I was hangry because it was late for me to eat LOL.

The food was pretty good but we had made a special trip there because the amazing looking cocktails we had saw featured on their social media. They do not have their cocktail list on their website so we asked our waitress which drinks came in tiki glasses and she went through each one on the menu which was nice, but when our drinks came they were in much smaller more basic glasses then we saw people at other tables had so we were a bit confused. We also saw people getting the drinks that were on fire. We had saw these on social media as well but the waitress didn’t mention them when going over the menu so we assumed they didn’t have them at the time. I’m not sure if certain drinks are some kind of secret menu item or what but, I’m not sure how one would ever find out about them other than asking the wait staff as we had tried. We were kind of disappointed as we don’t get out that way much. I’d recommend asking really specific questions about the drinks if you’re looking for something special.

My family and I travelled out of state and ate here! The cuisine is so sophisticated blending many styles. The feta fries, lobster croissant brunch sandwich, and cocktails are fantastic. I was very impressed with the variety on the menu, and all of the custom made sauces. If I lived closer I would eat here often. I wish I took photos of my food but only remembered to photograph the dessert! We loved dinner so much we came back the following morning for brunch.The story of the owners is also so beautiful. You can see/taste their artistic vision through the variety of cuisine on MJ’s menu.

I had never been to MJ’s bar and restaurant before this visit but it did not disappoint! We arrived Sunday at 1pm to a very busy restaurant. We were expecting a lunch menu only to find out that lunch does not start until 2:30 and they were currently serving brunch. We were a little disappointed, but ordered a couple brunch burgers and cocktails anyway. Our disappointment abruptly ended there.
