We were visiting Carizzo Springs from out of town for work and we were referred to this place by some of the locals. The Mexican rice was good, but they use fake cheese/Velveeta on the tostatas, chalupas and enchiladas. The refried beans were bland, tasted like out of the can. Also, no free chips and salsa in Texas? That’s a big no-no. The service and wait staff were nice and helpful. The tea was good. The prices were ridiculously high for what they were serving which I could easily make at home. Very disappointed.

What Mexican Restaurant doesn’t serve chips and salsa you ask? This one doesn’t. Had to get my on drink refill. I chose not to get a Mexican plate based on the fact they do not serve chips and salsa (like why wouldn’t you serve that?!?) I decided on the hamburger steak. Mistake, don’t try it. I gave it two stars only bc I like sweet tea and it was decent. I’m sure that was a mistake tho. Simply go elsewhere.

Got here on Saturday at 1:08, place was empty (red flag I know!) They were already out of chicken and beef fajitas, that took 75% of the menu off, no chips, no salsa, platters are served with ONE tortilla. We ordered the carne guisada,(good portion) and the lemon pepper wings basket (just wings no fries) the seasoning smelled like mice, I think it was pretty old, but wings were big and well cooked. I usually get positively surprise with little hidden places like this, but not this time. I expected more because of the 4 star ratings, but to me this place only gets one star for the lunch part, I guess their breakfast is the only good thing. Definitely not coming back.
