From the moment we walked in and sat down, to our waitress (Brandy), whom by the way was SUPERB, she knew everything about the menu, details about the ingredients on the menu, she was simply fantastic. When you have someone waiting on you that is knowledgeable and is passionate about the choices you have from the menu, that makes a dining experience much more enjoyable!!! The food was a chefs kiss from our “snack” (Fried green tomatoes), to the Entree-fish and grits with tomato gravy (speechless!), to the dessert- (Nectarine, bourbon, maple ice cream and mockingbird pecan pie!) The drinks (Lemon drop lavender) and the wine were spot on as well. It was our first time here and it most definitely will NOT be the last!!!

Food was great, my mixed drink was perfect and the employees were very polite. I highly recommend. I would say the inside needs some type of ‘special touch’ of something, just not sure what. Perhaps a huge ficus plant or flowers on the table. Which can get expensive. Something. I also like the fact that they had real eating utensils and not that cheap stuff. Temperature was good and the fixtures weren’t all worn out. So yeah, I’d eat here again. 🙂

We were here twice this week. We went back because our first visit was so good. Great food and service. One of the best salads I have had and I am a salad snob…. Great desserts and home made ice cream.

A local favorite for many years! Chef Chrissy is amazing. The spicy chicken has a smoked, brown sugar, chili sauce that is to live for! Best kale salad in town too. Pictured kale caesar with xtra cornbread croutons.

We decided to take a drive to Fayetteville and ended up at mockingbird kitchen. At first the service was a little slow (wasn’t very busy) service improved after we got our drinks at least! We had the soup of the day it was okay kind of plain tasting. The small salad was delicious with the dressing (vinaigrette). Margarita was good both the regular and the apple butter margarita (extra shot of tequila not included with the apple butter) the food! Boy was is amazing! The chicken and mashed potatoes was awesome! The turkey melt sandwich was so tasty! I loved it. The fries that came with it ❤️ perfect crisp to them with their homemade ketchup was delicious. And both were good portion sizes! Can’t wait to go back and try some more items!

We had a very pleasant Mother’s Day brunch here. The service was friendly, the food was good. Nothing negative to say. I tried one of the specials; salmon Benedict sub biscuit for muffin and I got a pancake on the side – both very good. Bloody Mary half spicy was also good. I would return.

An absolute gem. The food is excellent. In one weekend we showed up without any reservation, and the waiting line was huge. We could not get a table that day. The front desk lady told that they take reservations, except on the Sunday. Next time we made a reservation and hit the place for our Friday night date dinner. The place was fairly packed. They have an outdoor patio seating option too. We chose to sit inside. The indoor environment was cozy and cool. The server lady was very nice. She gave us suggestion on what to eat. The house lemonade was great to start with, on a sunny hot long day. We skipped the appetiser and jumped into main course. I took the fried chicken which was supposedly the most famous dish from their kitchen. It was terrific. Usually chicken fry means greasy big chucks of ‘southern’ delicacy that comes into our mind. This was so different. This was not greasy. It was lightly battered, absolutely crunchy outside and juicy inside. It came with some cheesy mashed potato and green leaves. Greens were essential to balance the taste with so much fried and cheesy stuff. My husband ordered the meatloaf. That was too good. The portion size of both the dishes were right. It’s neither tiny nor humongous that you have to carry the left over. We ordered a slice of mockingbird pie to finish the meal. The dessert was excellent. It was a layered pie with perfect amount of sweetness. Overall the entire experience was awesome. I highly recommend the place.

Wow, visiting son at college, found this little jewel. If your looking for some great food choices, excellent service, this is the place for you. We tried a couple of appetizers and were not disappointed. We had the duck two ways and just wow, it was excellent. Then had to try at least three house desserts. I would definitely refer a friend and return to enjoy some other dishes.
