I ordered their veggie sandwich and also a steak sandwich. Both of them are really really good. I think the best part is the service. Although I only get a to-go order, the owner and the staff were extremely friendly and nice. This place is a gem! Highly recommended. Parking is street parking. There is a parking lot nearby, so it was not a problem on a Friday noon.

A great find of a small locally owned sandwich shop. They cure all their own meats, make their own wonderful mustard, flavorful hot sauce, pickles . . . Free coffee is available while you wait. A true gem. The Cubano sandwich had great well balanced flavor with just enough light crunchy bread for accent and hold it together. The pulled pork panini was VERY moist with great flavor. I will need to try other offerings, but these two are future repeats!!

It was exactly what we had hoped it was and more. There is a great variety of sandwiches and salads available, we ended up getting the pulled pork panini and the Italian grilled cheese sandwich. The ingredients were incredibly tasty and fresh, and everything is house made. We got to try the pesto with some tuna and the meatballs as well, so our order for the next visit has already been made for us. Gerry was wonderful and answered everything we could have hoped for. Incredible, and an easy recommend.

It’s greasy (even the vegan sandwich) and a bit of a one trick pony as far as the panini style but for this sandwich style, it’s solid. Not the best in the bay…a bold claim by the owner but a trusty sandwich that will fill you up.

Cafe Modigliani is a gem! I’ve lived the neighborhood for years and can’t believe I haven’t eaten here before. The paninis are fantastic and the owner was so warm and welcoming. They had just whipped up a fresh batch of pesto and some pulled pork when we walked in. They gave us samples of both- delicious! Almost everything is made in house. Will be back soon 🙂
