We love Mokkoji! Definitely one of the best Shabu Shabu places in town, book a place online it’s always packed. We get the prime rib for two which is the perfect amount when we add our favorite scallops. All the food is fresh from the fish to the vegetables. Every time we come we can’t wait to come back.

Seating is the only thing to complain about since it’s a very small spot. Food is fantastic. Perfectly marinated meet. Veggies and noodles on the side. 2 drops of their hot sauce and you’re in business. This place is pricy. Parking is great they share the lot

Make sure you sign up for waitlist on yelp before you are on your way to the restaurant. There is usually a 20+ minute wait particularly on the weekend.

Pretty good Shabu Shabu bar. The location is pretty small so it is pretty difficult to sit a party of 6 or more at a table. They also require the whole party to be there before they will seat you. We ended up sitting at the bar, which was fine as everyone gets their own shabu shabu pot. The Ponzu and Goma sauces were pretty good. When you order meat it comes with vegetables and udon noodles. I was told you can order additional greens for no additional charge, but I was too full after eating all the meat (ordered XL size of the Toro) that I didn’t get to take advantage of that. The broth, sauces and vegetables came out almost immediately, while the meat took about 15 to 20 minutes to arrive this was at Dinnertime 6pm Monday on Thanksgiving week so they were a little busy. When the meat came out the quality and the taste was great the Toro came dressed with what look like garlic and sesame oil. The meat was extremely flavorful. I would say if you like fattier meats and flavor go for the Toro. I would like to note that the meal comes with a bowl of rice. I didn’t end up eating the rice since it came out pretty wet with a mashed potato like consistency, which some people might enjoy. Just not me. For the price and quality I will be coming back here hopefully on a less busy day.

One of the tastiest spot for Sukiyaki. I always have their spicy sukiyaki soup base with otoro fat belly meat. The meat is dipped with garlic, onions and sauce which makes it more tasteful. I also love their peanut and raw egg dipping sauces.

The food was amazing, the experience was even more interesting and their staff are very friendly and helpful. We truly enjoyed our time and food. The place is cozy and fun. It was our first time having shabu-shabu dish and it was great. Our waiter was very kind and he helped us figuring out what to order and we were very happy with everything we ordered. Definitely check this place out!

We love this place and almost justify driving down from Anaheim to eat here! When we used to live closer, this was a regular stop.

If you haven’t tried their to-go hotpot yet, don’t be afraid to. It’s pretty good how they provide you with everything you need for a complete hotpot all while being able to add your own personal flair at home to up the experience. Albeit it is still pretty pricey.

A bit of a wait to get a table because this restaurant is really popular. The savory broth of your choice is light and make-your-own sauce is flavorful. It’s a good place to go on a cold night.
