Ordered the sushi lite set along with a crispy tuna roll. The sushi was very good and loved the crisps on the roll and the spiciness it had. The California roll was also very fresh along with the rest of the fish pieces given. Would love to try more on their menu.

I’ve had their sushi several times already, and Mola is definitely my favorite in Pittsburgh. Do yourself a favor and stop by here if you’re looking to get great tasting (and in my opinion, nice larger cuts) of sushi. Start off your meal with some pork belly bao and/or spicy edamame, and end it with some mochi. You won’t regret it!

Superb sushi! Though somewhat pricey, we just couldn’t stop ourselves from ordering more and more sashimi and rolls and bahn and yummy deserts. The best I’ve had in Pittsburgh. And the service and atmosphere were excellent.

My experience today has been the worst experience ever! I ordered two 8pc sushi rolls and waited 25 minutes to receive my food. I only received 12 rolls and was told an 8pc doesn’t mean you get 8pcs and may only get 6pcs. I never heard of that. Instead of fixing the issue, I was made to look like I was incorrect. The bartender mocked me.

My partner and I basically tried one of everything and it’s all so good! it’s small on the inside so keep this in mind if you choose to go during a busy time. the sushi is fresh and delicious and HUGE! the service was wonderful and staff was completely prepared and attentive to allergies.

1st time experience and won’t be the last! The best quality sushi! Our waitress was very attentive and help us navigate around the menu because we were newbies!

Absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. I’ve never had a dish that I didn’t enjoy, service is amazing, and I always feel special every time I’m there. When I walk in, there’s several people (including one of the owners) who always make sure to greet me by name.

Mola is truly a gem in Pittsburgh. I consider it a top 5 restaurant in this city, and it’s family run! You honestly will not get fresher, better quality fish for price. After speaking with the owner and chef Alex, I learned that the fish is sourced and shipped directly from Japan – I’m not surprised! Through the many times I’ve visited, I find they often have hard to find, seasonal fish on their menu – just check out their instagram or their blackboard for what’s in season or available at the moment. The way they handle their rice is different from what you’d normally see at other restaurants too! You might think that it’s brown rice because of the colour, but if memory serves right, the rice was actually prepared by soaking in red vinegar to give it that delightful, delicate complementary flavour to their fish. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu, and I am saying this as someone who has lived in Japan (and currently lives in NYC). Mola is spectacular and I hope they open more locations!!

The chirashi bowl comes with a large portion and the sashimi on top were fresh and delicious. They also got really good mochi.

Definitely our favorite sushi place in Pittsburgh. The sushi is a bit more expensive, but definitely worth it! The service is always friendly and surprisingly fast. We’ve only had their sushi and boba tea, but it’s always been fantastic.
