Moms Cafe is a staple in Plattsmouth, it’s been in the same location on Main Street as long as I can remember. We moved to Plattsmouth in 1985 and it was basically the only restaurant downtown at the time. It’s a nice size little restaurant and as I recall it was always busy and usually had to wait for a table to open up. In 2003, we moved into Omaha. We don’t get into Plattsmouth much anymore but once in a while we’ll go for brunch. On this day we came, we were planning on going to another restaurant called Bliss, but found out they were no longer in business, so we stopped at Mom’s. I don’t think it has changed since 1985. Same decor as I remembered from way back when. Just a nonchalant, easy going, nobody is in a hurry. There were only two or three other people at noon when we got there for a Saturday. Maybe the town people come in earlier to get coffee and breakfast, it said on the window their hours are 7:30 to 2:30 every day except on Friday night. Friday night they have All you can eat Fish fry. You get that feeling of home town cooking. The food was delicious, it always was even back in 1985. I had the ham and cheese omelet but added green pepper, tomato and mushrooms, it came with hash browns, my daughter ordered the pancake sandwich which consisted of two big pancakes, one egg and 2 pieces of bacon. The staff is friendly, they greet you as you come in, and as you leave, they thank you for coming and wish you a good day.

Decided to try this cute little cafe closer to home than driving into the city to find a place with breakfast options closer to 11 AM. This is a cute place on Main Street in Plattsmouth and I wasn’t disappointed. Great portions, great prices and very attentive, friendly staff. The only reason I’m giving it a 4 is because the gravy was pretty stiff and a little on the salty side, but the biscuits were perfect! Everything overall was pretty good and had the feels of being at home eating grandmas cooking. We will definitely be back!

Really good food! My brother and I stopped by on a lazy Friday afternoon and it probably took 15-20 minutes to make a couple pretty simple dishes. They were good, but go before you get exhausted hungry.

They have good pies, so save room for pie…or don’t and get some pie to go. Don’t forget some ice-cream.

Great food, with an authentic German dishes. The staff was great, very attentive and helpful. The German Casserole was very good, with sausage, kraut and spaetzel noodles. The Philly Steak Supreme was a great option for anyone that likes a more typical option. The food came fast, we easily made another appointment in Plattsmouth, Nebraska.

I’ve been here more times then I can count and the food is always delicious, no matter what I’ve ordered. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. I also love the old school diner vibe, complete with 50’s rock-‘n’-roll! I stop here whenever my semi is at the terminal getting serviced, which makes it the highlight of my day! Today, my waitress is the lovely Miss Linda!

I ordered the shepherd pie (bread bowl with hamburger, peas, carrots & gravy) with mashed potatoes on top. Loved it! There was do much I took half of it home. Hubby had chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes & peas & carrots. We ordered pumpkin pie & chocolate pie for dessert. The food was delicious! The price for each entree was around $10 each. Very reasonable. Wait staff very nice. We will go back! They have a fish fry on Fridays that sounds amazing!
