Holy cow! This place is YUMMY! We tried the fried Shrimp jianbing, egg & cheese crisp pancake, original bubble waffle & Thai iced tea. The fried shrimp jianbing was the star of the show… loved the unique texture & flavors. So fun to have new places like this in Skokie. Will definitely be back soon!

Super tasty jianbing, brought me right back to my favorite breakfast item during my years in China. I would highly recommend the original veggie jianbing with extra crisp and Chinese pickled vegetables for the tang + some spicy sauce. I will be back 😉

I saw the excellent google reviews and drove to Monkey King. You must enter a building and go up one floor on an orange staircase. Then go through a corridor, and there is a large sign for Monkey King. I was hesitant about the place because it was not easy to find. But it smelled good and looked clean. The attendant was prompt and recommended the shrimp. It was well wrapped in a cardboard container. The food had great flavor, texture full filing. I will be back for sure to try the other options.

My favorite Jianbing! I’m so glad I finally get the Jianbing (Chinese style crepe) in Chicago! Still remembered I drove to Canada one time just to have the Jianbing which disappointed me a lot! High recommended Monkey King JianBing and worth the try! With your choices of filling, the fried chicken, fried shrimp, minced pork with hot dog are so good.

I’d almost given up finding jianbing in America. (We’re from Michigan) we got original #1 and pork floss w hotdog #2. Both were super delicious and generous in size. Freshly made in front of us! And a lemon tea (not too sweet!). Loved the little gloves included. Thanks so much!

The food is delicious and the service is great too. My friend ordered the Fried Chicken Jianbing and I got the Fried Shrimp Jianbing, both were delicious. It was so good and filling we went back to get another one to share with a friend. I recommend this place if you want to try something new, this something new and delicious. They are located in the second floor, there is also lots of parking in the second floor. Enjoy!!

My brother and I stumbled upon this place by accident looking for parking in the central part of Chinatown. Finding no spots, we stumbled on this parking lot we mistook for a parking deck and realized there were a couple of small food places attached to it. Not wanting to wade through insane traffic again we decided to eat here at Monkey King as the images online looked pretty good. What a great choice this was because that was some of the best food I’ve had in a while! We both got the Chicken and Beef Jiangbing. It was amazing! Great combo of sweet and savory and lovely crunchy texture within the soft wrap. I definitely would love to go back soon for more, so glad we happen to find this little place. Highly recommend!!
