Wonderful meal! Jamie K was our friendly server and even held the baby for a bit while we ate! Recommend Octopus and beet salad starters. The wagyu ribeye special was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Halibut filet was huuuge and flavorful!

Nice evening at Moodys. The food and service were good but a bit below our expectations. The atmosphere was very nice and the outdoor seating was great. We would certainly return but for the price they need to raise there game a bit.

Moody’s is a Truckee staple that’s been around for a while. We last ate at Moody’s about 10 years ago when our then 12 year old son raves about the elk burger.

Excellent restaurant in downtown Truckee. The service is top notch. The food is locally sourced and very fresh. The tomato soup is legendary. The cioppino was light with perfectly cooked seafood. Good wine list and lots of creative cocktails. It gets busy- reservations recommended!

We came for a romantic evening as the restaurant stated in its “About” section. It was way too loud to be romantic. We were not even in the room with the music and we still could not hear each other. The atmosphere is of people having a good time. The food was beyond good. It was fantastic!

Unassuming on the exterior, the restaurant is charming and warm on the interior. The al pastor chicken was fantastic as were a number of other dishes our party ordered.

Four women in our 70s seated ourselves outside since we had a dog. We all, including dog, needed water before ordering since we just finished a hike. I eventually found a take out container and gave the dog water from my bottle. Service did not improve. It was extremely slow for all parts of the dining process. We watched other tables arrive at the same time and after us get preferred treatment even though our orders were routine and similar to those we saw going to other tables. It felt as though we were intentionally being ignored. We found ourselves saying, surely this is our food….as it went by. I’m thinking the person may have a bias against older women. Perhaps she has had a bad experience with tips and this age group. HOWEVER, it would benefit her not to make assumptions as she will likely find herself in a situation where her expectation of a poor tip is realized solely based on poor service. Everyone in our group are well off and greatly appreciate those in the service industry. Against, our objections, the woman who paid the bill tipped well. If I had paid the bill, she would have received no more than 10%. I hope out waitress gets the message.

This is a foodie type place with interesting food. This isn’t your typical brew pub food, more gourmet. Sandwiches are $20-25. Multiple Salads on menu. I had the smoked pastrami; It had great flavor but the meat was tough and dry which made it hard to eat. The chicken breast on my wife’s sandwich was a little dry too but the sandwich was awesome overall. Inside is dark. They have some outdoor tables that are shaded and dog friendly.

The food is fresh and tasty , portions large , and service was impeccable. Our waiter was so accommodating to our likes , bringing wine to taste and even an extra salad to try. It’s the kind of service you hope for and rarely get. The prices are high so it’s great to have this be matched by amazing food and service.

Excellent food and even better cocktails. Service was incredible. The only downer was the lack of A/C on the hottest day of the year.
