Overall, Mooneys is a decent place to visit. They have different specials every night, which is great. The Mac and cheese is pretty good, but not as great as it’s hyped up to be. The portions are large and the prices are reasonable. The restaurant is a bit dingy. And the soda was super syrupy and like of flat, so not great. They’re known for their Mac and cheese so if that’s your thing, it’s worth visiting.

Potentially, the new home of the Greater Binghamton Buffalo Bills Backers (>B4) for the 2023 season. Excellent food selection on the menu. Including many WNY favorites such as the Stinger Sub, Beef on Wek, wings, large chicken tenders, pizza logs, and garbage plates. Evan does an excellent job managing the place. It has a true sports bar atmosphere.

Stopped into Mooney’s in Johnson City, for a birthday dinner with my family. We have visited many times and it was the choice that everyone agreed upon for the celebration. We arrived at about 5:00pm on Friday, August 26th, the parking lot was surprisingly empty. We went inside and were seated promptly and told our server would be over shortly to take our orders. We waited for about 15 minutes, and nothing. After a few more minutes she arrived for our drink request. We started to order drinks, and were met with, “Oh yeah, sorry we are out of that”, another choice and the same response. Finally got through the drink list and asked about some appetizers, and started getting the same response, we were disappointed that 4 out of the 5 things we asked for (Drinks and and appetizers) were all out, at no time did anyone in our party do anything other than sigh. We started to ask for a couple different appetizers, and the waitress, cut my wife off and said, “I see you’re upset, I’ll give you some time” and abruptly walked away while my wife was speaking.

If you’ve never been here, be forewarned The portions are extremely large and prices for portions really aren’t bad. As long as I can remember this place has always been short staffed even prior to pandemic. Temporarily disabled their online ordering because they can’t keep. Should also be forewarned if you call in your order, your best bet is to go immediately and sit and wait for it because they won’t start your order until you show up to pick it up.

Alycia, our waitress, was amazing! I’m not sure if I got what I ordered exactly but I didn’t really care bc it was so good!!! Super generous portions, very attentive and friendly service, overall a great time, definitely recommend!
