We came here for a special occasion and I’m super bummed to give this review because I expected more from a high end steak house.

Wow! First time, but not the last! My wife and I celebrated our 12 year anniversary, and we weren’t disappointed! Everything was fresh, vibrant, and made to perfection. The scallops, salmon, and the filet mignon were top shelf entrées let me tell you! We also ordered the chopped salad, which was excellent! Rian was our server, and she didn’t disappoint. Very personable and friendly, with amazing food recommendations and a beautiful atmosphere. The whole staff treated us with the utmost professionalism and courtesy. Mortons, now I know why you are downtown because this evening, you covered ALL the bases and hit it out of the park! Many thanks to you and your staff for making a memorable evening for us both!

First, don’t look at the prices. Ok, you can look, but If you do, then stop reading and do not eat there. Steakhouses like this are not for those who are concerned with price. This may be a chain, but it’s not low level. There is a Dress code, so that says it all!!! A group of us came during a conference in town. They couldn’t seat us at our regular reservation time, but when they got us our table (only 20 minutes later) they comped us 2 bottles of wine and 2 appetizers. To say the food was amazing would be an understatement. Everyone got steak except for me. One colleague said it was one of the top 3 meals he had ever eaten. Personally, i never knew fish could taste so good! The steaks were cooked to perfection, and so tender. But the wine… 2017 Silver Oak Cab – it spoiled some of us that other wines aren’t worth drinking anymore! If you want to treat yourself, just do it.

No matter where I go for NYE I have a nice steak dinner before the festivities. This years was at San Diego Morton’s before i went to CRSSD’s Proper. Love this Morton because they had Jack Daniel Sinatra’s. The house wine with dinner was good as well.

I love Morton’s, but during our last visit the vibe had changed. The crowd was under-dressed (not that I have a problem with it, but it used to be a restaurant were you would dress up for a fancy dinner)

It is one of the best steakhouses in San Diego with a good selection of steaks and side dishes. The desert menu was just ok. Food was cooked to perfection, and service was equally commendable. Portions were healthy and filling. The ambiance was a bit outdated and could use a modern touch for the sake of aesthetics. Parking is at a premium due to location and seemingly always special events downtown. Suggest use of valet service, as it is reasonably priced, not including tip. Restaurant is easily accessible from nearby streets and easy to find. Will definitely return for any other special occasion.

I don’t always eat steak but when I do it’s at establishments that know how to pick a cut of meat and serve it to you. Great beef.

We dined here to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversary the other night. While we’ve eaten at Morton’s numerous times, it’s always been at the bar since we’ve loved their happy hours & bartenders so much, we never ate in their dining room. We made our reservation via Open Table and indicated we we’re celebrating a special day. We were greeted by and taken to our table by Nina, waited on by Lawrence and the service they provided was fitting for a king! I ordered a Moscow Mule, and my wife had a Bourbon Old Fashioned. We shared their Filet Mignon & Lobster Tail (and added a 2nd lobster tail). I had a baked French Onion soup, and we added the Parmesan Truffle Matchstick Fries & sautéed Onion & Mushrooms sides. We wrapped up our meal with their white chocolate Bread Pudding. We were treated to a specially printed menu celebrating our 30th Anniversary, a complimentary photo, and treated to the shared dessert which they comp’d us. The timing of my 1st course (French Onion Soup), to our dinner entrees, and to dessert was well spaced. We were able to apply a gift card for Oceanaire Seafood Restaurant (which had since closed for business, but was under the restaurant group which Morton’s is affiliate restaurant of). Our filet mignon & lobster wet both cooked to perfection, the sides were equally delicious, dessert was halfway finished just because we were stuffed, and the bartenders knew their craft well! We couldn’t have enjoyed a better night out. The GM, Josh S, came to our table to greet us and make sure all went well with our dinner. My “only” gripe is Morton’s does not have a butter cake dessert. A steakhouse needs a delicious butter cake to close the deal! Even California Pizza Kitchen (a sit down casual restaurant) has a butter cake… Come on Morton’s!!!

Valentine’s Day dinner was superb!! I asked for a lemon drop martini (not on the menu) and the bartender did not disappoint. He surprised me with a Rasberry Lemon Drop martini! Fresh muddled raspberries in my lemon drop martini was on point and refreshing. I called it The Sweetheart Martini- I had two!! Waiters were attentive, but not overbearing. I had ribeye steak, my husband had Chicken Christopher, both were prepared and seasoned perfectly. It was our first time at Morton’s and we will be back! Thank you Morton’s!!!
