Whenever I dine here I leave thinking, “We should come here more often.” What a truly underrated restaurant in the Union County area. It doesn’t stand out much from the outside, but the interior is extremely well designed and decorated – lots of natural light and aqua blues. The entire staff is extremely warm, welcoming, and professional; starting with the manager who greeted us at the front door, all the way to the busboy, who continuously picked my infant son’s toys off the floor for us. We were never rushed, and any request was answered with a “yes.” The food is outstanding as well – think Mediterranean Italian. My wife and I have been here many times, with both friends and family, and every time it’s truly a delight. We even had our engagement party here. Note to self: come back more often!

The atmosphere was excellent and the waiters are polite and professional. The food dishes were gorgeous. I personally didn’t love the taste of Pollo Alla Griglia, it was “just ok”, same for the Salmone Alla Griglia. On the other hand Pappardelle Mosaico was flavorful and nicely presented. For dessert the tiramisu is mouthwateringly delicious.

One of my girlfriends and I got together to get brunch. When we arrived we parked in their private lot. I walked in and was greeted by the manager/bartender Fernando. He was very nice and sat us in the bar area. There was a large party there dining as well. Fernando started us off and Antonio finished serving us. I had the mussels and fries for my meal and my friend had the Belgium waffles. The mussels were tasty and so were the fries. My friend enjoyed the waffle. I truly enjoyed my meal. Only small issue is they couldn’t break my money to tip and Antonio seemed to be rushing us out at the end which wasn’t cool. Everything else was cool and the bill was affordable.

Mosaico has a great villa-like atmosphere and the food is perfectly crafted. They do well with special birthday menus. It’s relatively close to the Spanish Tavern, a similar restaurant.

My mom has wanted to come here for the past 20 years, when my family and I came here back in 2004 and they couldn’t accommodate us since we didn’t have reservations. My dad took it as a slight against our race (Indian in a post 9/11 america) and I just figured they were busy. It was probably a bit of both.
