Extremely cool location in a modern building, comfy couches and comfortable cool surroundings are the signature of the place. Croissant was an outstanding example of fine viennoiserie with a delicate yet firm buttery crust. The almond croissant was equally good with a not too sweet filling complimenting the flaky pastry. Alas the accompanying espresso left much to be desired. Too large a shot (about 3-3.5 oz) which was over extracted. But the friendly service, vibe and baked goods compensate well!

Maybe I go there not long after they open in the morning and that is why my experience is not good. Not the friendliest crew both times I have been there. I am not hard to please after years in the food industry, so I don’t care about that, as long as the food is good. However, I got the brioche breakfast sandwich on 2 separate occasions and both times they were cold. I work close by so the walk back to my desk did not cool it down. I had to microwave it when I got back as it was cold in the inside. There were grill lines on the bread, but nothing was even “warm” much less hot. Having to microwave this made the bread doughy. It is a good sandwich and very large. You get your money’s worth. I should have went back there and had them fix it, but the stink eye I got just for walking through the door made me decide not to do it. I may try it again and make sure I check the sandwich before I leave and not be intimidated by having them make it right.

We LOVED our experience at Mother Dough. Highly recommend grabbing coffees on the first floor, then heading upstairs for pastries/breakfast or lunch. The owner was very helpful in giving recommendations and is clearly very passionate about his bakery. We will be back!

If you live, work in, or visit downtown Minneapolis, Mother Dough Bakery should be placed on the top of your “must do” list. A unique and beautiful Parisian bakery by the Fhima family that not only does baked good well, but sandwiches, salads – even the house wine.

The breakfast sandwich changed my life for the better. I ALSO went back for a variety of 15 pastries for my office as a Valentine’s Day treat and they were devoured. The service and interior design is top notch as well. Do yourself a favor and try Mother Dough for instant happiness!

Wow. I’ve had the breakfast sandwich before but when I had the smoked salmon baguette… wow, I was blown away… I have to say it was one of the best if not the best ever salmon baguettes I’ve had. I’d definitely recommend. It’s a must try.

Mother dough was recommended by a friend and it didn’t disappoint. The cold brew was great and the red eye was perfect. Crema on top always! There are two levels so get drinks on the first floor and then head up to the 2nd level for the bakery. The Parisian croissants were spectacular. The owner was amazing, the knowledge and passion displayed were infectious. Couldn’t recommend here enough.

Whenever I try somewhere new, I get the basics. At Mother Dough, I stopped for a black coffee and an almond croissant and they didn’t disappoint. My coffee was brewed excellently and with a crisp finish and the croissant was essentially perfect; it was layered expertly and had a nice flaky crust (but not so much that it becomes messy, especially for on-the-go orders). Overall great experience and staff, so I’ll definitely be coming back whenever I need a reliably-high quality breakfast stop downtown. Looking forward to exploring the rest of the menu!

Had an amazing lunch. One of the best salads (Nicoise) have had in a long time. Went with two coworkers and they both decided on the Salmon Baguette. They both raved about it. Of course had to finish with a Profiterole. Fantastic. One of the coworkers walked away with an almond croissant and said it was great. Atmosphere was great, service was great. Chef Fhima, Eli and his team are outstanding.
