Great find. My wife and I took her mother for a day trip to look at some campgrounds. We passed Mount Carmel Cafe on our way to look at another campground. On our way home we went back to see if they were still open. They were getting ready to close but the cook said he would stay open to serve us. Great food. The burgers were big and my wife said delicious. I got a HUGE pepper steak sandwich on a hoagie roll. Fantastic. I highly recommend Mount Carmel Cafe to everyone.

The food was very good, the staff was very friendly. There were only a few tables. We went for a late lunch and were soon joined by many officers from different areas. The 12 of them really seemed to enjoy their meals as well. I saw lots of the officers eating the chicken wings. We came for the seafood specials.

We really enjoyed the food. My wife had barbecue and I had ribs. This is a real gem in a small town that only has a furniture store and post office. The atmosphere is different than most restaurants. You order and pay for your food at the counter and they bring it to your table. Most of the tables are on a small sunroom which is different. Also noticed a lot of people were ordering takeout.

Great little locally owned cafe in the small town of Mr Carmel with experienced chef. We went by for lunch after church and we’ll pleased. We had the BBQ rack of ribs and wife had the chicken salad with fresh homemade Strawberry cake, which was incredible. Highly recommend the trip.

Our family has been ordering from this restaurant at least once or twice a week. Today is the second time I was cheated and didn’t get everything on my plate that was supposed to be on there. In January, we had ordered two New York strip plates from the specials menu, got home and they didn’t give us the two salads…never said anything about it. Today, ordered a fried chicken liver plate and didn’t get the fries and okra that was supposed to come with it and was charged $13.99 instead of $12.95 price that was listed on the specials menu through Facebook. I will think long and hard about ordering again from this cafe, the food is good if you get what you ordered, but driving 20 miles round trip to get cheated is not worth it.

I stopped here just to take a little break from my ride in the area. When I saw the cafe I thought I would give them a try. I had their Philly sandwich, loved it, artisan bread, well seasoned, and it was huge! Great service, a surprisingly varied menu and patio seating make this a place to go to if you’re in the area.
