My experience here is mixed. Over the years the service has been great but most recently, this is not the case. I ordered saag paneer (one of my favorite dishes). I was very disappointed to find out that; instead of “cheese simmered in creamed spinach and spices”….the cheese was substituted with tofu (blocks of tofu which do not melt). I don’t think that is good business at all. I’m not sure if such practice is common in the Nepal culture, but in the American culture its unacceptable. An issue doing business with this restaurant is that there is definitely a communication problem. The woman who took my order did not speak or understand English well enough. I’m old fashioned. I believe if any vendor does business with English speaking customers; that business MUST put forth the effort to learn the language; at the very least use someone who speaks and understands English well. It would be no different if I was to conduct business in Nepal. $25 wasted.

It’s in the same building for two businesses a little store on the left offers lottery, tobacco products, chips, etc. Mount Everest is to your right… they do have parking on the premises, which is a plus, and everyone was very kind and professional.

Let’s talk about TRUTH Private
Trust me, I’m the last one who will ever give accolades to a service provider that doesn’t deserve it. My experience was good, recently. The “wow” factor kicked in. I ordered the chicken saag. It came with white rice (which was perfectly cooked), and I ordered the spicy. The food was excellently prepared. It was delivered quickly. The amount of food was just about right for the price. Its refreshing to ‘see’ that there are still service providers who continue to provide good quality food and at a fair price these days. I certainly will continue doing business with this restaurant.

The gyro lamb was paper thin and so was the one slice of tomato. I peeled it off the bread. Gyro was as dry as paper, with sauce. Lettuce and onions were just as bad. Yuck! The chocolate cake is actually mousse cake instead of layer cake. The menu should say it or show it. It was good though pretty small. I may try them again when they aren’t busy.!

I ordered a HIMALY PIZZA and I asked for one change which is I asked that they replace the pizza sauce with MOMO sauce. Unfortunately I just received a HIMALY PIZZA with momo sauce on the side. The pizza was still very delicious but it was not what I asked for. I have had Indian pizza made with the butter chicken/Tikka Masala sauce and it was incredible, and I am sure that Momo sauce would be as good or better, but I will need to wait until I can get one made to find out. The people were very nice and friendly so hopefully maybe someday?

Do not get wings from here. I ordered two 10 pieces and not one piece of chicken was a flat. Out of all 20 wings, they were all drums. they also don’t tell you, you don’t get any flats before you pay.

I don’t normally give 5 stars but I have to give the Chicken Tandur/Tanduri 5 stars. I eat a lot of Indian and Asian dishes. I normally patronize Elkridge or Columbia MD area Indian, Indian Asian fusion, Nepalese, or South East Asia restaurants. I must say Mount Everest Frankford Ave have the best Chicken Tanduri in Baltimore City. It is so good that I buy it at least 3 times a week! Kudos to the Chef! I have nothing bad to say about this dish.
