Curiosity paid off. Newly opened (October, 2022) we checked out this little bake shop. Mid-morning, we wanted something sweet, not savory. The Kolaches are flat and smallish pastries with fruit and cream cheese filling in the center. I chose blueberry, husband picked cherry. Not overly sweet but nice and flavorful and so, so soft. We got them home and heated them slightly. At $1.89 each, a real treat. We will be back.

Permanently Closed. Space for lease/sale, the owners posted on Instagram that husband had work in Texas and they were closing business. I gave one star because it’s closed and has been for some time. Not a reflection on them- their kolaches were fine and they seemed like nice folks.

We stopped in JUST before closing time on Friday- and the case was pretty empty (understandably – and good for them! ). We met the family – SO nice – was fun to chat with them for a couple of minutes 🙂 We bought two muffins to take home and we had them this morning with coffee. Honestly, it was the best muffin I have ever had!! (cocoa joe) – seriously. . We HAVE to come back soon and try one of those kolaches!

So delicious! We drove 2 hours just to get kolaches and we weren’t disappointed. Growing up in Texas, we mostly got kolaches in La Grange and oh my this bakery gives them a run for their money! SO fresh and delicious. I especially love the sausage kolaches and really enjoyed the kolaches with pecan pie filling! We’ll make the drive again and again!

DO NOT WALK TO THIS PLACE…. RUN! These kolaches are to die for. They are not overly sweet, and the bread is perfection – light and buttery. Don’t get me started on the ham & cheese version. SO GOOD. My partner and I grew wide-eyed on first bite! Now I need serious self control every time I leave my house since they are 2 mins down the street. Definitely give them a try!!!
