Read all the reviews, even the irrelevant ones from years ago. Wife and I went for appetizers and drinks. Our bartender Katie was amazing! She was very personable and attentive. We ordered the nachos, they were really good, 4 out of 5! The fifth star was for the service, again Katie was on point and deserves 5 stars alone. We will definitely be going back during our stay for another drink and a different appetizer!

Great food and amazing service. If you are in the grand hotel I recommend going to the breakfast buffet. I saw the reviews for dinner and they were not that great. But I say don’t listen to them and go to the buffet. Not many gluten free options though. There are cereal boxes, pancakes and french toast sticks for the kids. For adults there are sausages, scrambled eggs, and bagels. Service is fast and efficient, and the food was cheap.

That’s funny. I thought we said no tomato or pickle. Twice. Underlined. Guess what we got? Tomato, pickle, not so fresh bun and a pink “medium well” burger. Oh and I had to pick some black lettuce out of my salad.

This is the first night of our two-night stay at the North Conway Grand Hotel. Though we don’t currently have any complaints about the hotel itself, the Mountainside Tavern & Restaurant left much to be desired. After a long day of travel, dining out, and mountain activities; my family of five was looking forward to hunkering down for the evening at the hotel and dining in our hotel room (we have an infant and two little ones, so after a long day we opted to not dine in at the restaurant).

This is the restaurant inside the North Conway Grand Hotel. 1 of the reasons I chose the hotel was the lovely looking restaurant and tavern on the website. As I was unfamiliar with the area I wanted a nice place for dinner onsite.

Awful. Came here with my kids. The coke and ginger ale tasted like bubbly water. They said they have had issues with the soda for a long time. So we got waters. Then the boneless buffalo wings come out and we got small bones in it, and hurt a tooth. The chicken was nasty. Got a couple kids meals which were really terrible. Kraft Mac n cheese- that’s ok- not a big deal. It’s a kids meal. The broccoli was crunchy and frozen???? The grilled cheese had about 7 slices of Kraft singles cheese in it- not melted. LOL what ? NOT one to complain or even a Karen who is picky and writes reviews but wow i definitely am surprised they haven’t gotten better by now even after the lousy reviews. Turned off by food right now and I barely even ate anything.

Never knew you could boil “fried” calamari. No breading and chewy like a hair tie. Also ordered the steak and cheese. The fries are the best part. Just needs a little salt. They forgot the steak and cheese and served the bread with a few onions. A few scattered overcooked pieces of sliced roast beef were found in the “sandwich” but if you didn’t open the “sandwich” then you would never know. Bread was actually pretty good for previously frozen bread. Wish I had pictures. For a grand hotel, the local Cumbies gas station has a better menu.

The food was good, but didn’t knock our socks off. It’s convenient, being in the hotel, but not inexpensive. Our server, Angel, was incredibly attentive and the service was excellent.

The service (hostess, waitress) were excellent, and were able to explain all the day-of changes. That said, the restaurant at the time of this post had only been doing non continental breakfast for a while; the website said breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We had to make a grocery run to cover for those two other meals, due to the snowstorm as well (didn’t want to run out for restaurant food elsewhere). Another things that was disappointing was the amount of folks that needed that breakfast, and for 7.95 per person you were lucky if you only waited in the make your own waffle line for less than thirty minutes. Lots of things ran out fast and in the time we were there, no replacements. Being understaffed, and under-supplied when a known ski-school-vacation is going on = not that great for everybody. Please update the website, too, to reflect less meals being served.

The food here was horrible!! When I went here once while staying 5 nights at the hotel above the restaurant and the service was discouraging after sending over $1,000 here. My burger I asked for well done was raw in the middle and bloody, and the cheesecake says 3 slices I only received 2, when I opened the cheesecake a fruit fly actually flew out and was stuck in my room the the entire stay despite my constant Lysol and Everclear spraying. When I first called to place my order and ask about the beer to the waitress or hostess she was so quick to yell at me that you can’t just order alcohol that I couldn’t even place my order for food that I was trying to place. $61 dollars later from dinner in the trash and i still had to go out somewhere to eat dinner.
