Oh My Goodness, today was my first visit to MP Island Cafe it was nice and clean and very friendly, she prepared my food with the most polite attitude and she kept a smile on her face. Once I got home and taste my food it was heaven the cabbage was like butter melted in my mouth, the mc& cheese was so cheesy I’m eating as I type. I got the Ox tails and it fell off the bone. I also had the rice and red beans I love everything. It was perfect I drove 21 minutes to get there but it was worth every second. Thank MP Island Cafe it is delicious

I love Jamaican food, so if it’s not good, I’ll be the first to let you know. This food was lip smacking good! I ordered the Oxtails and the Curry chicken, and they were both good. My 5-year-old son is the pickiest eater in the world, and he devoured the Chicken.

A disappointing difference between this store compared to their place in Norfolk. They were out of the Breast and Wing lunch and the portions for the thigh and leg meal I did get were very small. The rice had a taste of perfume and the chicken was dry. I asked for heavy jerk sauce which I was given 2 small containers of it. While the presentation was good, it was the only thing that was (other than the beef patties I ordered). They don’t seem to be consistent although they do only a 3rd of the business of what their Norfolk location does. Although they are both owned by the same person, this location lacks the value and flavor for the money. I think the pictures tell the story.

I’ve been coming to MPs for yearrrrs. They don’t disappoint. I can eat off a large meal for a couple days. Delicious, filling, flavorful, consistently!!! This past visit, I brought my homegirl, and she had never been here. She was sooo excited to try everything!!! It was probably my favorite visit because she just raved about the food and spoke so highly of it when she tried her meal. We both had jerk chicken w/m, and cabbage, but I got spinach rice, and she got yams. I got beef patties and a chicken pattie also. Everything was good. I’m sure she will want to visit again, and I just moved from 5 now I’m closer to the Norfolk location! YAY!

Horrible Customer Service and Horrible Presentation. Menu said “candied yams” not “Steamed Sweet Potato”. The Curried Shrimp, Ha ha, I was not expecting my food to look like this. I am very upset! I demand a refund and if you are going to have candied yams on the menu I am looking for candied yams on my order. This is a hot mess for sure. I will be calling them tomorrow being that my food came after they were closed.
