Sad to say the food and service were not the best the last time we visited. The brisket was basically all fat. It might have been an off day for the food, but I’m not sure why they could attend the 3 tables that had people seated.

After ordering, I waited 25-30 minutes to get my food. At the time, they only had one table of 4 people and one car at the drive through. I asked for a certain bbq sandwich with mixed meats and for some reason they “don’t do that”. I ended up getting the bbq brisket & sausage poorboy.

This was our very first time eating at Mr. G’s Barbeque in Corpus Christi. We are visiting from Universal City and we were showing my brothers family from Chicago, around the area. Based on others reviews and pictures we decided to dine in. Well the gentleman waiting on us, Mr. Daniel Guerra was very polite and attentive to our questions.

Okaayyy!! Some very good food. The brisket and the ribs tender, juicy and just the right salty. Sausage was unique but very good. Coleslaw was also uniquely sweet and very good. Lost one star on quantity vs price and bland beans. Meat portions a bit skimpy. The beans needed some chopped red onions to add some flavor. But, I will likely come back and buy by the pound.

Sides were good. Brisket was dry and only an inch wide. Ribs were probably a day old and no flavor. It was expensive but meats are outrageous right now. Staff was great.

I ordered a 3 meat plate with 2 sides. My main meats were ribs. I ordered 2 sides of ribs and 1 side of brisket. So for $24. I got 1 slice of brisket and literally 2 ribs. But I was told if I had gotten a 2 meat plate. It would’ve been maybe 2 slices of brisket and 2 to 3 pieces of ribs. So you see where I’m getting at. Plus the ribs tasted as if they were boiled. Well… My fault for just not waiting for The Bar B Q Man to open.
