Many years ago, I was a hibachi chef. When I came to New York City, I found it difficult to find a hibachi restaurant. Amazingly, I successfully brought the match to New Yorkers. Now, New Yorkers have a Japanese-style steakhouse in the center of Manhattan. We focus on the quality and source of the ingredients, where they can taste the delicious Japanese style hibachi style.

Everything I had here was perfect. The chicken steak crispy despite being smothered in the most delicious sauce. It was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. The soup dumplings were steamed to perfection, and every bite was a joy to partake of. Service was top-notch, everyone, friendly, and service was quick and efficient. I would highly recommend Mr. Z Chinese.

Came here pretty late, and the food and service were still amazing. It was a party of 3, so we had a few things on our table. Everything from the pork dumplings to the beef and broccoli was delicious! The dishes were presented so nicely, some with a flower as you can see. The space is very nice and close to the West 4 stop on the subway. Definitely recommend!

First time to this newish Chinese restaurant in the West Village and was impressed. Small but tastefully decorated, service was friendly and all the dishes were really good. Had the xiaolongbao, shumai, gongbao chicken, and huiguo rou – alll very authentic and most importantly, delicious.
