I love Mexican food. It’s one of my favorites. I wanted to love this place. The style inside is so cute and definitely instagram worthy. The flight of margaritas for 20$ is a good deal. The empanadas were good. The best tasting part of our food was the black beans and rice. The chicken and steak had little to no seasoning/flavor ; Very bland. The consumè was thin like water. With no flavor. The server took so long to take care of us and they weren’t even busy.

We ate here just a little after lunch. There were very few people at that time, maybe 2 other tables. Service was fast and good. We had a combination of Tacos. BBQ Birria, Steak Bavette, and a chicken Taco. The Birria and Chicken Tacos were good. The Steak Bavette were strange. Not in a bad way. The meat was tender and flavorful, but it had the smell and texture of shrimp. If I did not see the meat before eating it, I would swear it was shrimp. Weird, but in a good way. The only downside was that the flour tortillas on the steak tacos were not toasted (or not toasted enough). This caused the taco to eat a bit gummy or pasty. It did not have a good mouth feel.

I came in one minute prior to their closing time and they made no hesitation to seat me. I happened to be only in the market for cocktails and in this they succeeded. A pleasantly spiced and attractively garnished jalapeño margarita, on the rocks. Zero pressure to me or the other two parties of guests in the establishment as we zoomed passed closing time at our respective tables.

My Fiancé and I visited the restaurant on a Wednesday around 5pm. The crowd was very minimal. We were immediately greeted and seated. The ambiance was beautiful and welcoming. Very clean and modern restaurant. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive and my meal was delicious. I ordered the bbq birria tacos. Highly recommend this restaurant.

Hard working employees, worked for a month with no pay- every employee quit after their amount owed grew past $1,000 each. Mucho Mas has been turning away reservations because they have no staff (people working without payment is SLAVERY), and they are renaming and rebranding themselves so that they can avoid paying those employees. If they can’t afford to pay staff, the food must be absolutely terrible! New Orleans is a city with fabulous food options, and also a place filled with people who know how to treat their staff. One of them will take great care of you- and their workers.

Edit: It appears they’ve shut down! Sitting at the bar next door, we saw tons of patrons with reservations turned away by a locked store with no lights.

Food was delish! Staff were attentive and friendly! Prices were very reasonable. Atmosphere is modern and cool. Only complaint is that the music was a tad too loud. But don’t let that stop you. We just happened to be by the speaker. Check them out and support the Oak Street neighborhood!

OMG! No wonder they had only two customers. This is by far THE worst Mexican restaurant I have been to. I ordered the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. It comes with rice and beans. Everything was cold. Not even lukewarm. And when I complained, they microwaved it. The chicken was very, very dry and the tortillas crumbled in my hand. I can go on and on. I couldn’t eat the food, so I left and ordered food from the Mexican food truck. The truck food puts this place to shame. Don’t waste your time and money!

My fiancée and I had a date night here, and it was amazing! Happy hour margs for $5, complimentary chips and salsa, and we added a small queso that tasted incredible. We shared the bavette tacos, which had toasted cheese on the tortilla and a delicious salsa verde on the side. Cannot wait to come back and try more!

Very friendly and happy place. The drinks and food were outstanding- we went there shortly after they opened. Decor is modern with comfortable lighting.
