What a delightful restaurant in such an unexplace like Buda, TX. I say this because the restaurant feels like it should be located in much more urban environment like Austin. The complex of shops where it is located should definitely be explored. The service was perfect. Sadly, I thought the food offered was only slightly above average. The Cesar salad was great. Not a true Cesar dressing, but the flavors were spot on. The gumbo had a more herbal flavor than a true gumbo, causing it to miss the mark. It was also unusually spicy hot. Finally, the shrimp dish was just outright boring. Mind you, it didn’t taste bad, just not something I could roll my eyes and say how wonderful it was.

Ambiance and restaurant are well designed. The food was chef- style arranged. Cloth napkins and wine glasses as standard service. The portions were satisfying. Service was friendly, excellent and professional. I’m my opinion, it’s definitely a place to celebrate a special occasion event.

Excellent food and service. Delightful patio! The Oysters Casino style, the Shrimp and Grits, and last but not least, The Big Sexy Pasta were all amazing! The bread pudding dessert was divine. Thanks to our server, Scotland, for being fun and knowledgeable!

Four of us met for lunch yesterday at noon. We ordered the Brussel Sprouts appetizer, a shrimp poboy, a crawfish poboy, Grateful Shrimp and Shrimp and Grits. Now my husband and I travel to Louisiana often and have for years. I also make Cajun Food including my own Boudin, so I feel like we know Cajun Food. Our lunch was absolutely amazing, everything came out at the right time, the food was hot and the service was very very good and perfectly timed, and the atmosphere was lovely. To finish off we did share a Bread Pudding. We left nothing on our plates and we all left very happy. We are making another date to go back soon. I cannot say enough about Mud bugs, you won’t be disappointed. We did have reservations for noon, and I am glad we did as it was busy.

We were very pleased with our dining experience at MudBugs! We dined indoors, bc it looked like it was going to rain. They DO have an outdoor patio that had a nice ambience, so bonus points for that. Indoors has a nice rustic feel. Everything was very clean, and it is well ventilated.
