Amazing restaurant in all directions. The fish is very high quality, probably the best I have found in all Hampton Roads. The chef is very skilled and executes with incredible consistency. I live in Virginia Beach, and I make the effort to drive out to get the quality Musasi has. The picture posted of the sushi boat, I ate completely by myself. You get what you pay for, and you will not be disappointed.

Picked up a to go order, it was just being put together when picked up and driven straight home. Edible, but barely. When you pay $20 a house specialty beef dish and there are barely a handful of pieces between ½ to ¼ inch of meat and rice that has hardened so much it sticks in your teeth like cement it literally leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

My wife and I love Musasi. On busy nights it might take a while for you to get your food, but there’s only a couple people cooking and serving so cut them some slack! Haha. Besides the food is DELICIOUS, and the atmosphere and location is top notch. If you live in Hampton, or are just visiting I highly recommend you try it.

Absolutely phenomenal food and service. I have lived many places and have had exceptional sushi in many on these places but….. Musasis relaxed environment makes you feel comfortable and at home. The sushi is an absolute phenomenon to the taste buds. I would highly recommend to any consumer!!

I was visiting the area and got a take out based on positive reviews but i feel like reviews are completely misleading. Food was not authentic, expensive, and we ended up throwing away most of our dinner. Yakitori consisted of 10 pieces of white chicken skewered with some weird soy sauce sprayed on top and more sauce mixed with veggies on bottom for $10. And it was not tasty. We took one bite and threw it out. I also ordered spicy tuna roll-it was not fresh. It’s a bad sign when the fish is warm and you could smell it. And aside from fish not being fresh, spicy tuna roll just tasted like sriracha sauce. We could not eat it. Scallion pancake was okay but definitely not authentic and too much flour. And restaurant is hidden away and very difficult to find. Would not recommend.

We have been waiting to go but with my severe shellfish allergy had been hesitant. We went in after the Blackbeard Festival and it was AMAZING! We were greeted and I explained my allergy the hostess let us look over the menu prior to seating. I saw there were plenty of dishes that were non shellfish so I was good to go I did ask about fish sauce being used and she said no. The Miso soup was AMAZING! You are seated in a “group-like” table which didn’t bother hubby and I – its a VERY extensive menu. They also give you a sushi/sashimi menu but of course we didn’t order any – they have a sushi bar right in the seating area – it’s very cool. The waitress was super sweet! They kept pur water glasses FILLED which was nice because it was quite warm and the water was ice cold! They even asked if we needed forks – hubby said he did but I would not . There was PLENTY of food when it was served too and for a GREAT price. You get a salad and soup AND your main! We had leftovers! It’s a mix of Japanese and Korean food which is a GREAT blend of flavors. I cannot wait to return. I’m so glad I took a chance – so for all of you with shellfish allergies I did fine – YES I DID have my epi-pen and did take precautions prior to eating just in case, but felt no ill affects from the food at all, except I was VERY FULL!! GREAT service!

This place is an absolute gem!! Authentic & delicious, the food was made FRESH to order & was easily some of the best Sushi Ive ever had. The sushi chef has true talent and puts passion into his presentation. Best sushi place in the area hands down (& I’ve tried a lot of them lol) 10/10 would recommend!!
