Small place , but great food!! I had the shrimp w/cabbage and corn bread!!! Huge shrimp and great cabbage and cornbread!! My hubs ordered the jerk chicken salad (no pic cause he was wolfing it down) and an order of onion rings (after having ate 6 rings)!! Definitely a place to stop!!

I had a chicken patty, I devoured it before I could take a picture. It was delicious and juicy. The jerk was good (spicy). The curry chicken was seasoned to perfection and absolutely amazing. The lunch comes with rice and peas/white rice and two sides plus a fountain drink. You get more than your money’s worth.

This was the worst Jamaican food I ever had, I ordered curry chicken with gravy tasted burnt, rice and peas were salty, cabbage had no season, and the fried plantain was not ripe it was hard to chew. The coco bread and patty was tasty also. It was overcooked and beef pattie was dry.

Great location for lunch. Food is delicious at a great price and portions. Chicken falls right off the bone and is savory. My favorite side is the mac and cheese followed by the plantains. Jerk chicken has a kick to it, so be prepared. If you’ve got room left for dessert make sure to grab a slice of cheesecake.

We are always looking for the next best small business restaurant to explore and enjoy!!! While docked up, I Googled food near me. This gem was 5 minutes away from our location. We unhooked the trailer and took off. Well worth it. I had to pause while eating, I got full fast lol. Then when I felt room I finished my meal. It was cooked fresh and served with a smile. We will always stop here when we are in town!!! Check Mystic Jamaican out when you are in Newport News Virginia!!!!
