The food here is super good to be very honest. As a South Indian, sometimes our food gets underrepresented and not done well. However, Nalan really changed the food game with their dishes! Everything tasted the way it would when tried in India so if you wanna try South Indian food, I def recommend this place! The biryanis were delicious and some of the North Indian dishes were out of the park good

We visited this place yesterday Monday night to celebrate my husband’s birthday after seeing the 4.7 rating. We found it average . The service is slow and they look understaffed . We ordered Mutton chukka and chicken 65 and The starters were good. For kids we ordered cheese dosa and plain dosa . They don’t have the regular crispy and long dosa. The Dosas were round soft and thick but tasted good . The menu shows the option of Appam with gravy which they said we don’t have appam in weekdays . We try to order gulabjamun with icecream which they didn’t have . We ordered goat biryani and parotta with chicken gravy . The Nalan special chicken curry was so average . Didn’t like it at all . The porotha we have tried in different restaurants but it was too thick and not that great . We asked them to give one plain dosa as were not able to eat with porotha . They got onion uttapam instead. Biryani rice had too much orange color and it felt like they just mixed the basmati rice with the cooked goat . It was notDum biryani . To my surprise the filter coffee was bad . Too much milk and less coffee . Won’t recommend the coffee or the chicken curry . The. Moong dal halwa didn’t taste good . I mean we drove one hour to try this restaurant and it was not worth the drive and money . One good thing I would say the restrooms were very clean . The Starters tasted good too . Main course – not happy with it . They definitely need to improve their service and shud keep the items they mention in the menu .

Had a pleasant experience at Nalan for lunch. Mutton sukka, fish curry and set dosa, egg Kothu parotta, andhra cut mirchi were tasty, generous portion size, spice level was customizable. Staff were friendly and courteous. Definitely check this place out.

New place opened in my neighborhood. When I walk there, I wasn’t sure about the place. Entered to restaurant and it the smell of food made me happy. We ordered few things and everything was good and decent enough. Service is not so great. They forgot one item from our order and charged us as well which they never gave us. Overall, food was tasty. Veggie dum biryani had many paneer pieces so not sure what they serve us but tasted good. Their peshwari paratha is so good and it comes little crispy and not so sweet like usual one. I would recommend to try this place but don’t expect fancy ambiance and great service, just go here for food.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this Nalan restaurant and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, with beautiful decor and soft lighting. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable , making our dining experience a truly memorable one. We especially enjoyed the Tandoor chicken and spicy veg biryani. Food has a little spice but overall it was tasty. I would recommend this place.

We had a fantastic dining experience at Nalan Restaurant in NJ. The ambiance was inviting, and the staff provided excellent service throughout the evening. The menu offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, and the flavors were truly exceptional. I highly recommend trying their signature dishes, as they were particularly memorable. The attention to detail and quality of ingredients were fresh from India and evident in every bite. Overall, Nalan Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for authentic Indian food in NJ.

We dined in during a weekend and we had the Ambur Mutton Biryani. This was simply the best biryani I’ve ever had in the east coast. The taste is authentic and they use seeraga samba rice! We also had the appam with chicken curry which is my friend’s favorite. The person at the register (probably the owner) was very polite and friendly.

If you want to eat good Indian food in New Jersey you cannot afford to miss going here. By far the best Indian food I have tasted in a long time. And the service and ambience are really good. Just be ready to share the place with a full crowd of enthusiastic people. Everything we tried was really good. I just regret we had no room for desserts.
