We had a quick lunch at Nana’s and thoroughly enjoyed the Fried Chicken, Tenders, and Catfish we ordered. My son had the Kid’s Meal with Tenders and Mac. My wife and I had Collard Greens and Mac with two main entrees. The food was cooked to order, tasted fresh, and was prepared with care. Oh, yeah they had grape Kool-Aid. The only thing I would’ve preferred differently was the cornbread, it was served at room temperature, and I think warm would’ve been great; minor quibble, though.

I Am Curvy Perfect
Probably the best soul food I’ve had since here in Washington. The dining space, though small, was extremely clean and organized. We ordered the two dishes – catfish and chicken wings, two sides – cabbage and mac & cheese. Catfish was seasoned good, chicken was decent, lacked just a pinch of salt or something LoL but nothing hot sauce couldn’t fix. The cabbage though….was BOMB! Would definitely recommend. The service was over the top with expectations. Friendly is not the word, definitely southern hospitality and I’m truly grateful for that. Many blessings to this establishment and their endeavors.

I am extremely disappointed in this food ! The reviews got this place overrated.. I ordered the 1 main 3 sides I got catfish, candied yams, and Mac & cheese + corn bread the catfish nuggets were okay probably the best thing I had but still barley good, the Mac & cheese had me fooled look seasoned but wasn’t & super oily not to mention there was a strand of hair (pictures below) the greens was terrible had NO flavor and tasted like they were cooked in water no meat at all, the candied yams was not candied very bland !!! Oh & the corn bread can’t forget the corn bread it was dry ! Won’t be ordering here

Honestly way overpriced for mediocre food. We spent 35 bucks for some fried shrimp and two Mac and cheese sides which are disgusting! The Mac and cheese is not a good consistency, the cheese and noodles are separated and it’s greasy seems like days old Mac. Not happy about the waste of money when I’ve been waiting years to try this place. Service wasn’t the best either but I didn’t really care about that but the entire experience I’d rate a 1 out of 10.

Let’s just say I was very disappointed. One picture I started, the other picture I was one and done. The catfish was the best out of everything, but I was hopeful to no avail. I have my leftovers to a homeless person that would enjoy it more than I did . Because at $62 ($20 tip) I did not want to waste it. However, the service was superb in the atmosphere was very chill.

I took my sister here for the first time. Each time I have been I always get chicken wings and usually they are cooked a golden color (the way they should be) as their photo’s online show clearly and are very tasty and delicious. This time they were cooked a little darker and the ends of the leg portion were hard (see pic below – couldn’t bite into them) the rest of the piece was okay, but still somewhat overcooked. I purchased 3 orders and all of the chicken was the same. Probably from the same batch. She did mention it being set on a timer but I think perhaps whoever was timing it probably didn’t pay attention when it went off!

The search is over!! Trying to find good, authentic soul food is no easy feat in Seattle. But, Nana’s is where it’s at. That fried catfish just fills you with joy. The large chicken wings- what!?!? No salt, seasoning needed. It’s all done just right. And the Mac and cheese. Yea we finished that. We were not leaving that behind. And that hint of sweetness in the potato salad was perfection. Now, don’t go just for the food, the women taking such pride in their 4 generations of soul food are as delightful as the food. Do yourself a favor and go get you a plate. You won’t regret it. Support for such amazing local businesses are what makes a community great. Thank you for the amazing meal and such kindness. We will be back.
