About Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria
Considered the oldest family name in Chicago pizza, Lou Malnati’s is as rich in history as its pizza is in flavor.
Lou Malnati got his start in the 1940’s working in Chicago’s first deep dish pizzeria. He took his pizza expertise to Lincolnwood, a northern suburb of Chicago, where he and his wife Jean opened the first Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria on March 17, 1971. Lou was known for his fun-loving character as well as making Chicago’s best pizza. Loyal patrons lined the streets on opening day for a taste of his delicious deep dish creations. Lou always thought it was funny that an Italian should open a pizzeria in a Jewish neighborhood on an Irish holiday.

In Naperville so we wanted to try the Chicago deep dish pizza. This restaurant is located in a nice area. The parking in this area is tough on the weekend so you might have to park around the corner, but it’s not too far. The service was okay, it wasn’t too crowded when we arrived but it took the waitress a while to come and take our order. We order several different types of pizzas and each person thought they were just okay. The wings were ordered on the other hand were very good. The price didn’t match the food but I would go back and try something different. Sorry for taken the picture s after we had eaten.

Great, welcoming Chicago staple! My friends and I came here from NYC. Some of them are from Illinois nearby and said Lou’s has some of the best deep dish pizza Chicago style! We got the personal pizzas and loved the basil and pepperoni deep dish as well as the signature Lou’s style deep dish pizza which comes with spinach mix, mushrooms and sliced Roma tomatoes. I highly recommend trying the classic deep dish cheese pizza with the spinach mix. The buttery crust is not too heavy and has the perfect amount of crunch. The bruschetta is a must have! Our waitress was also super hospitable and friendly. Kept the free refills coming and we never felt rushed!

An absolute MUST GO if you visit Chicago! Laura took great care of us. She was awesome. Pizza was so filling! 1 slice and I was full. After 2 I was regretting life choices. Mad tha I couldn’t eat more.

This is the first restaurant I went to on my trip to Naperville and I was not disappointed. Everyone always talks about getting the pizza around here and it did not disappoint. The build your own pizza is the way to go for sure. They have plenty of options to add and they are all good. Drinks were good too and well made.

First time ever having Chicago deep dish pizza and I was super impressed! I got “well done” crust, which as flaky and crispy. I loved the “gooey” crust that we had at the table even more. Just softer and chewy. Not undercooked like the term gooey would imply.

We had such a great experience tonight! We came to Lou Malnatis to celebrate my 30th birthday today, and we were not disappointed! Susan was our server, and she was absolutely wonderful!!! She was so attentive and sweet. What really made it special was she noticed it was my birthday when she checked my ID for a drink. We had a brief exchange about it. When we finished our meal, she came out with a complementary dessert for me without us even asking. Thank you so much, Susan, for making my birthday even more special!
