Napoleon House Menu – New Orleans, LA

Type : Restaurant

Location : New Orleans, LA

A beloved landmark on the corner of Chartres and St. Louis in New Orleans’ French Quarter, the Napoleon House exudes a European charm in keeping with its 200-year history. Although the city’s optimistic plot to provide refuge for the exiled Napoleon Bonaparte never quite came to pass, the bar and restaurant that occupy the premises intended for him have carried on, extending a constant welcome to generations of locals and visitors, artists and musicians, and filmmakers and philosophers, in his stead. Remaining true to itself, the deeply patinated walls, uneven tile floors, and old wooden bar, hollowed by countless signature Pimm’s Cups, speak to its many decades of service.

Muffalettas, po’ boys & other Creole staples in a circa-1914 house with a palm-filled courtyard. Based on 4 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.5 stars. Price $$

Checking off the food of the French Quarter. I had the usual foods and drinks and now it came to pass that I had not tried a Po-Boy and my son suggested The Napoleon House, so that’s where we ventured at 500 Chartres Street in the French Quarter of New Orleans. My son and I decided to split two Po-Boys. We ordered Fried Shrimp and Fried Catfish. We came to the same conclusion on the sandwiches. We liked the Fried Shrimp better than the Fried Catfish. This was our own personal choice. I’m sure other diners will say they liked the catfish better. The Fried Shrimp was just really good. I liked the ambiance of The Napoleon House. The server for our table was very quiet, hardly said a word. I do appreciate a server not intruding on our meal but I would have liked for him to have said something that was welcoming and made us feel at home. Tell me a bit of the history maybe and I would have increased the tip.

Stopped in for a quick lunch, got seated right away & had the spinach artichoke bread bowl, which was superb! Came hot & with crispy bread pieces inside & extra pita for dipping. Lovely atmosphere, beautifully designed, with antique paintings & fixtures. Be sure to visit this historic restaurant that’s been around since 1914!

Even if there’s a line, I promise you this place’s food will well be worth the wait! It has a very charming atmosphere (it being an actual old building definitely comes with its perks). The inner courtyard is beautiful, the inside dining area is cute as well. Their staff was courteous and efficient, they were on top of everything. The food was delicious, the drinks were great too, and it’s right in the heart of the French Quarter. A must visit!

New Orleans is full of the most legendary places to eat and explore. This place is one of them. Everything was absolutely spot on. Flavors were exciting and something you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Best muffaletta in the city hands down. Had a few while I was here at different places but this one trumps the lot. They are warm versus cold ones elsewhere and the melted cheese makes this sandwich. Don’t bother with the jambalaya though, very dry and not much taste to it. Courtyard is a nice place to eat here

The Napoleon House was our dinner stop on a quick tour of New Orleans and we have nothing but great things to say about the food, service and atmosphere of the restaurant. Our party of four all ordered different items and everything was super delicious and authentic. The wait staff was sublime, keeping tabs on our table and providing great service. The value was incredible, the Napoleon House is highly recommended for a formal/casual dinner in New Orleans.

A must visit restaurant and bar in New Orleans! Everything was great. The service was very nice and quick and the bartender was very friendly, and the signature cocktails were really good. The muffuletta was so delicious and highly recommended, the sandwich was so good. The interior decor and the details added a nice touch to the overall experience

The Napoleon House Restaurant is one of my favorites. Each time I visit it is every bit as good as I remember. Good food at a reasonable price and in a quaint and interesting atmosphere. The muffuletta is my favorite, but eating more than one-half would be a huge challenge. A really historic and fun place not to be missed.

AMAZING! Insanely, unbelievably fast service. The boudin sausage, Muffaletta, and jambalaya left me speechless! We were in the courtyard, and it was so beautiful! Great ambiance. The cappuccino was great too.
