It was our first and definitely not our last visit to this restaurant. We had reservations and were seated quickly. Our server, Greg, was attentive and friendly. Our food was absolutely delicious and there was a lot of attention to detail. Cannot say enough nice things about this restaurant! Thank you so much for a great anniversary date!

A mixed bag of both good, and just okay for this first visit review of this lakeside eatery. We made reservations for Sunday of a holiday weekend. They were very accommodating of our requested time. The weather was frankly horrible to truly enjoy the lake views, but most tables are window tables, and the restaurant has a modern and casual atmosphere. Our waitress was very friendly, but after a nearby table was visited by a separate waiter, we noticed she never gave us the lengthy list of specials that night, offered us bread, or even brought water to drink. We both had cocktails, which were very unique and tasty. Our initial two choices for an appetizer were both sold out. We were then offered a flatbread offering, which we later found out was on the special menu for the evening. It was both tasty and filling. I had the Sea Bass and my wife had the Ribeye for our dinner choices. My fish was very good, although never before having beurre noisette as part of my dish, the amount of butter resting in the bottom was a little off putting to me personally. I can’t say it hurt the flavor, but a quarter inch of oil surrounding my entire meal felt a little rough on my arteries. The Sea Bass rested on mashed potatoes with an added shredded vegetable medley. I can’t say I would order it again, but if you’re okay with the beurre noisette pairing, I think the flavors are certainly something you will enjoy. My wife ordered her steak medium rare, and it was definitely a medium at best. It also lacked the marbling of a true Ribeye. It wasn’t horrible, but a little of a disappointment for her expectations. All in all our experiences rate another visit to this quaint little lakeside restaurant. If you’re not offered the specials of the night, definitely ask, as some sounded quite delicious. Not an economical place to eat, but with a few tweaks here and there, I think the experience warrants the price.

This place is absolutely WONDERFUL!!! We stopped by to have dinner one night and they were kind enough to squeeze us in even though we didn’t have a reservation. This was our first time there, and they suggested you try to make reservations 2 days in advance, so keep that in mind. The food was freaking AWESOME! I love seafood and always get crab cakes wherever we go. These were hands down the BEST crab cakes I have ever had. They had no filling and the flavors were amazing. My husband had the rigatoni and meatballs which were delicious. My son got the pasta with mussels and clams and it was great too. Their rolls are to die for! They were like soft delicious pillows of love! The water views were very pretty and the place had a great vibe. You had folks dressed up really nice, and casual folks eating outside in swimming trunks and flip flops. It was just a laid back fancy looking place with food that is better than some 5 star restaurants we have been too. We have reservations for the end of our SML vacation and can’t wait to go back. Staff was super friendly and nice!

This was our first visit to this restaurant. The ambiance was beautiful, the views were really nice, and the food was good. We all got the sea bass and thought it was a little buttery/greasy and somewhat under seasoned, but it was still delicious and nicely presented.

Love Donna!! She was such a wonderful server! My boyfriend and mom enjoyed their food a lot. Not much of an option for vegans but the pasta was still good. We were there celebrating a birthday and some folks in our party forgot to make a reservation but luckily we were seated at a high-top. Again, Donna was wonderful, so glad she was there!

This is not the first time we have visited Napoli By the Lake, but this time was beyond fantastic. We enjoyed calamari, salad, and two delicious dinners, Sea Bass and Pork ribeye. The winter Manhattan was a prefect predinner drink. Josh was the perfect waiter, had a great personality, and provided enough attention to make sure all our needs were met as well as left us alone to enjoy our own company. Thanks for a grand evening, guys!!

Enjoyed a very nice dinner served by Mathew, our friendly and very informative waiter. We had a variety of dishes including steak, duck and seafood. All were very tasty but the sea bass entree was simply amazing! Highly appreciate the gluten free (GF) markers that helped with my dietary needs. Highly recommend.

Our first visit for a lovely random date night in the off-season. The Chicken Oscar and Prime Rib Specials were both excellent, plus great drinks and a a Pound cake dessert. Excellent food and excellent service, with a beautiful lake backdrop. Thank you for a great dinner tonight!

The best seafood in the Roanoke area period. Casual with nice views. There for a birthday party of 16. We had a blast. They want you to have fun. Service was top notch. Fun and seafood. You can’t go wrong.

Had to write a review because Matt was our server and was amazing, very pleasant and definitely a Hustler, he was constantly on the move getting us and his other tables everything they needed and even had time to give us some pointers on where and what to do around the lake since we have never been here before, seabass was very good and all the vegetables that came with it were cooked to perfection, I also got a filet with the fish which was cooked to my liking so obviously my meal alone was pretty expensive because the chef would not just add the meat to my fish meal so I paid for two meals but my wife is used to me being an expensive date !! Drinks were good especially the root beer with the crown and the chocolate martinis at the end. We are going back again immediately, thanks again Matt!!!! Update, we went back the next day which was a Sunday, there was only three of us and I called down there before we left to see if we needed reservations and the phone was still on the sorry we are not open call to make reservations during business hours, so when we got there I informed the hostess that the phone was sending everyone to that message and she told me it’s because she has so many reservations already that she wasn’t taking anymore phone calls but we could go to the bar area and sit at the ledge, so she took us over and she told us we could sit at the empty table next to the ledge since it was empty but we sat there for ten minutes without any help and my wife asked one of the waitstaff to bring us some menus and he told us he would have to check with the hostess because we couldn’t sit there, but that’s where she told us to sit, so we left and did not go back the rest of the week, they unfortunately lost my business
