Great views, although they started construction on the side of the restaurant and we were seated right next to the construction tape and mounds of dirt.

Can’t say enough about the food and service – the staff were highly professional and made us feel welcome. It’s the only resort restaurant owned by Native Hawai’ians, if you want to support the locals. The calamari steak (that’s right, steak!) was incredible, and the chef’s special was exquisitely prepared. Open-air seating on the patio. It’s the perfect place for a special dinner.

Seeking an incredible dining experience on the Kohala Coast, Nāpua is your spot. The ambiance here is amazing, service attentive, friendly and with so much aloha, and the menu was fresh and delicious. Be sure to try one of the fish or pork dishes. The poke is amazing as well. Awesome wine list and cocktails to make this a very memorable dining experience. Enjoy!

Great location nice quiet getaway. The food is really good everything washed down great with a beer and a nice side of the beach and fish pond. The staff were friendly and it’s open to anyone if you walk over from the beach.

Great spot for lunch! Friendly service. Delicious drinks. Nice view over the beach club area. Excellent food. If you like calamari, definitely get the panko-crusted calamari steak with tomatoes appetizer. We had this dish back in 2015 and it was still awesome today!

There was a lot of construction going on, so there were tarps hanging, piles of construction materials, debris etc. around the restaurant. Despite making our reservations a month in advance, we were seated at a table with a great view of the fire extinguisher and the restroom sign. 75% of our entrees were average. One of our party ordered the Ribeye, which was objectively bad. Tough (cutting it even with a steak knife was a workout) and way oversalted. It was also poorly plated, so the mashed potatoes were runny. Our server started out OK, but for some reason, despite suggesting it herself, she brought out an entire pot of coffee for the four of us along with 4 very large cups, and a teeny tiny pitcher of cream that was basically enough for 1 person. No big deal. We politely requested more and also asked that she bring some more sugar packets (the container only had 2, the rest were artificial sweeteners). After 3 of us had finished our desserts with still no sign of the additional cream and sugar (or our server), we repeated the request to another server. About a minute later, our server appears with sugar and cream…in a clear plastic Solo cup(?!) and a sour face. Considering that this was a nearly $400 meal, that seemed pointedly petty and inappropriate. There were absolutely larger containers available for cream (one of our party had received one filled with Bailey’s for his coffee). That was the first – and only – such negative service experience I’ve had all week here, which made it all the more jarring. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this restaurant given all the other, better alternatives close by.

Exceptional! Always our best meal on the Big Island. Ahi crudo and fresh catch mahi-mahi were outstanding on this last visit.

Our family had a wonderful experience here to celebrate a big birthday. The food portion was pretty large and tasty but to me it was the service, scenery and ambience that warrant this 5 star review. Starting from arrival, checking in and throughout the 2.5 hours we were here, we felt so relaxed and the waitstaff was on point with just the right pace bringing drinks, entrees and dessert. My pork chop was thick and juicy and son’s ribeye was cooked a perfect medium rare. Mahi mahi and the Ono special were fresh and tasty as well. It’s a beautiful cute little beach in front to enjoy meal watching the sunset.

Only for patrons who relish deliciously prepared meals and divine cocktails enjoyed alongside the sound and view of the ocean in an absolutely tranquil, perfect setting. If you are lucky enough to find yourself at this little establishment, you must have done something right! If you are considering a first-time trek, close your web browser and dial their phone number to get that reservation, you will NOT REGRET IT. There are very few restaurants like this left in the world- RUN, don’t walk!

Fresh sourced ingredients from their own and local farms. Nduja toast is must try! We learned so much from our server about Hawaiian culture and ecological issues. It was delightful. A low key interior however you can tell that chef put lots of effort into creating the food.
