Some of the best brisket I’ve had in a while. Beautifully moist, good smoke ring, and excellent smoke flavor. I almost didn’t need any barbecue sauce, but their spicy sauce was a good compliment when I dipped in a bite or two.

1st time eating at Naulings and the food was excellent and the staff was great. Only thing I would suggest is thicker BBQ sauce. I had the pulled pork dinner & hubby had the catfish dinner both were very good! We will be back and try some other menu options.

I’ve tried Nauling’s a couple times now before reviewing, and I love it. Killer food, it is so good! Even today I was late on stopping for lunch? Ordering BBQ at 1:30pm on a Friday means you might just miss out! Thats a normal thing with local independent restaurants. I still wanted whatever they could put together, and it did not disappoint! Brisket was fantastic. I recommend the baked beans and yams for the sides. Yams are like dessert! Owners are super nice and a wonderful addition to Topeka. If you haven’t tried this spot yet, I’d highly recommend it. Better than all our chains we have here. I’ll keep coming back!

Chicken breast and the bbq sauce that came with it was good. The sides that were subbed in for what was sold out were ok. Had order to-go but the bread, side order of cornbread, and 2nd added side were all missing. Thankfully we didn’t drive too far away so ran back in to get the missing items, I probably should have double checked first.

Been wanting to try & finally did today. OMG! I had chicken & sausage gumbo with cornbread & the most unbelievable collard greens evah! I could have eaten their whole pot! Gumbo was superb with a sauce that had the perfect kick. My husband decided on pulled pork with coleslaw & said it was the best he’s ever tasted. Please support this local gem, the owners are fantastic, helpful & appreciative of all who enter their doors, it’s like you’re in their home! Thank you!

It pains me to share this review. Firstly, when I got there, they were out of many of the key items I wanted: ribs, brisket, potato salad, baked beans. My fault completely as I didn’t show up until 2pm. They did have pulled pork, hot links, coleslaw and greens which is what I ordered.

You can smell the meat smoking on the grille as you walk up, I knew this would be a solid spot. The owners are cooking and preparing the food themselves. The brisket and pulled pork were amazing and the Mac + cheese was the best I’ve ever had. If you’re local or passing through, def worth a stop!
