I love getting out to community events with my family. I enjoy trying all the different food trucks and meeting new people. Today was no exception, Spencer and Melanie made lunch today an awesome experience at the watermelon crawl. Super friendly and fast people serving up delicious tacos. Have talked with many of people who have gone to this restaurant, you either like it or you don’t. I just happened to be one that did not like it. Like any other Mexican restaurant they seem to be a dime a dozen around here and what you acquire a taste for a certain type others just don’t measure up. And I’m sure that’s just the case with me. They’ve done a lot of work to their restaurant to make it a comfortable place to visit.

My boyfriend and I visited a few weeks ago and had a great experience! Our waitress was amazing! (we tipped about 45% because she was so good) the food was hot and delicious.. I liked the salsa (I’m very picky when it comes to salsa, and bad salsa will ruin all chances of me returning to a Mexican restaurant) and she left us a pitcher on the table so we could refill our drinks at our own leisure.. (She still checked on us accordingly) the only issue I had was the cheese dip.. It was kind of cold so it was hard rather than being gooey and melty like I like it!

Food is still pretty good, but it took 20 minutes for our party to get all there plates. Let me be clear on this, 10 to 15 minutes to get the first plate the last plate got there 20 minutes later. To compound this it was a grilled cheese for a child. So our food got cold waiting for his food to show up. Definitely not what it use to be in service.

Very nice interior and friendly service and the musician they had playing was very good, however the food wasn’t that great. Not much flavor and overstuffed with cheese. There were pools of cheese grease on my plate. But I guess you don’t typically go to a small town in Kansas for good Mexican food. Good in a pinch but don’t go into it with high expectations.

I have been eating at her restaurant since the ’80s, because it is very good. Neives is at a nice location in a neat restored old building. It should have everything going for it. The acoustics are horrible even if it’s half full. Now they have added live music. The band is amazing but it feels more like a beer joint. Not that that’s bad, it’s just not what I want for lunch. Add to that compete disorganization of the wait staff, and it is just very disappointing.

Got on here to check the business hours, and happened to catch a few of these reviews. I have been here to eat countless times and have enjoyed every experience. The food is fabulous and I’ve never had a problem with the wait staff. Its definitely a family favorite and look forward to every visit!

This place use to be a place I liked to eat at, but over the years it has gone down. The food doesn’t have much favor and after waiting over an hour for it last time it was cold. The mild salsa tastes like plain tomato sauce , the hot salsa is good and the cheese dip but thats about it. The service is slow, and good luck getting a refill, because the only time the waitress comes by is to give you your bill.

Fast food mexican like taco bell tastes better than the crap they serve here but the place looks nice inside. Salsa sucks, meat has zero taste and salt doesn’t fix it. Wait staff are horribly slow as well as time from order to service. Melted white cheese stuff is good but then again any melted cheese is.
